"Kiki!" Sooyun yelled, catching up to him. "I thought you were staying behind to submit pictures for the schools page." Niki said. "I emailed it to them yesterday so I could bike home with you." Sooyun smiled. Niki smiled a bit.

"Wanna see the picture I uploaded to the website?" Sooyun asked. Niki nodded and stood next to her. Sooyun showed him the picture proudly. "You're really good at taking pictures. Are you planning to pursue it?" Niki asked.

"I don't know if photography would get me far." Sooyun replied, "What do you wanna be when you grow up?" "My parents want me to be an engineer." Niki replied. "No I said what do you wanna be?" Sooyun repeated, emphasizing "you." Niki scratched the back of his ear, "an engineer."

Sooyun nodded, "An engineer is cool." Niki nodded and got on his bike, "Let's go." Sooyun nodded and they biked home together.

"Riki is great in all of his subjects, yes, but he's been struggling with science. That's what I'm worried about." Mrs. Nishumera said. "I've worked with his sister. But she's already good in science, so Riki may be a lost cause." Ms. Lin said. Niki sat his keys on the counter to make himself noticeable.

"Riki! We were just talking about you!" Mrs. Nishumera smiled. "I heard." Niki said, taking off his shoes and heading upstairs.

"Riki, can you come down here?" Mrs. Nishumera asked. Niki sighed and walked back down, standing in front of his mom and Ms. Lin. "This is Ms. Lin, she used to tutor your sister in science." Mrs. Nishumera said.

"Your sister was already a star, I just helped her shine brighter. You... I've seen your test grades. They aren't all that great. I don't know if I could help you, but I'll try-" "I have a tutor." Niki said.

"Whom?" His mother asked. Niki ignored her and went to his room. Mrs. Nishumera smiled nervously, "I don't know what's gotten into him. I'll get back with you." Ms. Lin nodded and grabbed her things.

Niki laid on his bed and sighed. "What has gotten into you?" Mrs. Nishumra asked, barging in his room. Niki sat up and looked at her, "I thought you wanted me to find a tutor?" He said. "You didn't tell me you had one." She said. "You're never home and you don't really notice me. You wouldn't have cared anyways." Niki said.

Mrs. Nishumera sighed, "Don't be like that, Riki." "I need to study. Can you please leave?" Niki asked. Mrs. Nishumera shook her head, "we need to talk." "About?" Niki asked. "I went on your schools website and saw you participated in "fun day". Why weren't you studying? And what have I told you about dance? It's a waste of time!" Mrs. Nishumera said.

"Dance? I didn't dance." Niki said, scratching the back of his ear. "Call me baby by EXO doesn't ring a bell?" Mrs. Nishumera asked. Niki went silent. "You know you aren't allowed to participate in any activities that can get in the way of studies." Mrs. Nishumera said. "I'm 14." Niki mumbled.

"What does that have to do with anything? You're almost 15!" Mrs. Nishumera scolded. "I'm a kid mom. I just want to have fun with my friends at least once... just once. You wanted me to make friends and when I do you get mad." Niki said.

"I don't want you to have friends. If they get in the way. It's either friends or your grades. Choose." Mrs. Nishumra said. Niki furrowed his eyebrows.

Mrs. Nishumra raised her eyebrows, "well?" Niki got up and put on his shoes, grabbing his phone. "Where are you going?" Mrs. Nishumra asked. "To... study at the library." Niki replied, scratching the back of his ear. "That's my son. Be back by 7." Mrs. Nishumra smiled.

Niki nodded and left the house.

"Ma! Pa! Can I go to the convenience store?" Sooyun asked, clapping her hands together and making her eyes wide. "You don't have to beg you know. We always say yes." He father chuckled. "Thank you!" Sooyun smiled, grabbing her phone and running outside.

She skipped down the sidewalk with her headphones in happily. "I'm going to get some yogurt." She sang. Suddenly, she felt a rain drop on her nose. Then another one on her arm. "Oh no I didn't bring an umbrella." She sighed.

She saw Niki walking in the distance and caught up with him. "Are you going to the store too?" She asked. Niki looked at her, "I'm just walking." He replied. "It's about to rain, so let's go to the store together and eat!" Sooyun suggested. Niki hesitated before nodding.

Sooyun smiled and grabbed his wrist, dragging him into the store. "You like yogurt?" Sooyun asked. "I can't have dairy." Niki replied. "I'll keep that in mind." Sooyun said, "They have dairy free yogurt." "Is it good?" Niki asked. "...No. Not to me anyways. Maybe you'll like it." Sooyun replied.

Niki chuckled, "I'll just get what I know I like." "Let me pay for you." Sooyun insisted. "No." Niki said immediately, "I'll pay for myself. I don't like being paid for." "You'll have to grow out of that if you're friends with me. I love paying for people." Sooyun said. "Fine." Niki sighed.

Niki grabbed two of his favorite snacks, that were the cheapest of course, and handed them to Sooyun. "I'll go and pay." She said. Niki nodded and sat down at the table.

Sooyun came back with their snacks and handed them to Niki. "Let's eat." She smiled. Niki smiled a bit as well and slid some money and Sooyuns jacket pocket.

Sooyun ate her snacks as she scrolled on her phone. Niki pulled out a pocket notebook and looked up notes on his phone as he ate. "Are you studying right now? Take a break!" Sooyun scolded, taking the journal. Niki pressed his lips together and nodded.

Suddenly, there was a loud clap of thunder and Sooyun jumped. "Are you scared?" Niki asked immediately. "No no I love the rain just not loud noises. Speaking of rain, we should play in the rain! When it's not as heavy of course." Sooyun said.

"Play in the rain?" Niki asked. "You've never played in the rain?" Sooyun asked. Niki shook his head. "What life have you been living! I dance in the rain all of the time! We should film a video of us dancing. It'll be so cute! We-" Sooyun was cut off by Niki laughing. "What's so funny?" Sooyun pouted.

"Your rambles are funny to me. Not in a bad way, I think it's... cute." Niki said. "Cute?" Sooyun asked. Niki nodded. Sooyun smiled a bit. "We can film a video in the rain." Niki said, "but what if we get sick?" "I never get sick, we'll be fine." Sooyun replied, throwing their trash away.

"Let's go!" She said. Niki nodded and followed her out. When they walked out they were immediately met with the cold rain and cool atmosphere. "What dance should we do?" Sooyun asked, as her hair fell in her face.

Niki thought for a moment, "Twice!" He replied. "You like Twice? Me too!" Sooyun said. "Let's do.. Fancy." Niki said. "Okay!" Sooyun smiled, looking for the song. She propped her phone up in a dry space and stood in the rain with Niki.

They started dancing with the music started playing and Niki couldn't help but burst out laughing, causing Sooyun to laugh as well. "What's even funny?" She asked. "It's just fun." Niki replied. Sooyun smiled, "I'm glad I helped you have fun."
