[06: DANI : MFE]
September 22nd

"Hey Kiki!" Sooyun smiled. "Hi." Niki replied. Sooyuns smile faded, "What's wrong?" Niki scratched the back of his ear, "nothing." "You can't lie to me. I see right through you." Sooyun said, blocking his path.

"I've worked with his sister. But she's already good in science, so Riki may be a lost cause."

"Your sister was already a star, I just helped her shine brighter. You... I've seen your test grades. They aren't all that great."

"Can you tutor me?" Niki asked softly, "Today. After school." "Yeah sure." Sooyun shrugged, "was that what was bothering you?" Niki chose not to answer, "I have to go to class." "Niki-" "See you at lunch." Niki said, walking to his class.

Sooyun pouted and went to class as well.

"Dani!" Jungwon yelled, catching up with her. "Why aren't you in class?" Danielle asked, sucking on her lollipop. "Why aren't you?" Jungwon asked with a smug expression, raising his eyebrow. "I'm skipping." Danielle whispered. "Skipping?!" Jungwon yelled. Danielle covered his mouth.

Jungwon licked her hand and Danielle slapped him on reflex. "Sorry!" She panicked. Jungwon held his cheek and pouted, "I'm telling." "No no don't tell! Why aren't you in class?" Danielle asked. "I'm skipping." Jungwon shrugged. Danielle stared at him in disbelief.

"I'm kidding. I'm taking something to the office for my teacher." Jungwon said. "Skip with me." Danielle said. "Why?" Jungwon asked. "If you go back you might snitch. I can't risk it." Danielle said. "Just go back to class." Jungwon said. "But I don't wanna." Danielle groaned. Jungwon sighed, "Dani,

No one wants to be in class. But if you skip.. and fail.. you won't be able to see Youngjae next year." Danielle's eyes widened. "What do you know about Youngjae?" She asked. "He's my friend. Why wouldn't I know him?" Jungwon asked, smirking a bit.

Danielle put her hand on Jungwons shoulder, "Do you have his number?" Jungwon nodded. "I'll go to class on one condition." Danielle said. "What is it?" Jungwon asked. "You give me his number." Danielle smiled, clapping her hands. Jungwon sighed, "356-"

"Hey! Why aren't you in class?" A teacher asked. "Run!" Danielle said. She took off running with Jungwon following behind her. "Why am I running? I'm innocent!" Jungwon said. "So I don't look bad!" Danielle replied. Jungwon pulled her behind a wall as the teacher ran past them.

Danielle let out a sigh of relief and stepped from behind the wall, but Jungwon pulled her back. "What are you doing?" She whispered. "At least wait a few seconds. You don't know how to skip?" Jungwon asked. Danielle stared at him for a minute.

"What?" Jungwon asked. "Can you throw this away for me?" Danielle asked, taking the lollipop out of her mouth and tilting her head. "No you licked that. It's gross." Jungwon scoffed. "You licked my hand. It won't kill you. I'm going to class, give me Youngjae's number after school." Danielle said, handing him the lollipop.

She walked away and Jungwon sighed. He looked down and realized she had dropped her phone. He picked it up and smirked.

Danielle walked in the class and bowed her head, "Sorry I'm late sir. I was in the bathroom... washing juice off of my jacket." She said. The teacher nodded, "take a seat." Danielle sat down and reached in her pocket for her phone, and mentally cursed when she realized she must've dropped it.

She leaned back in her seat and folded her arms. Jungwon walked in and bowed nervously. "Yang Jungwon! What brings you?" The teacher asked. Jungwon held up Danielle's phone, "You dropped your phone, Dani." "Dani? Oooh." The class all said in unison. Danielle jumped up and grabbed her phone.

"Thank you so much Jungwon. I can't live without my phone." She said. "I put Youngjae's number in there." Jungwon whispered. "You're amazing." Danielle whispered back, patting his back and sitting down. "Oooh, you know Yang Jungwon?" Haerin asked. "He's my wingman." Danielle replied, "He gave me pineapples number."

"Omg! Give me updates when you get home." Haerin said. Danielle nodded.

"What took you so long?" Sunoo asked, "class will be over in 20 minutes." "Dani lost her phone." Jungwon replied. "Dani? When did you two get so close? You have a nickname for her now?" Sunoo smirked, nudging his shoulder. Jungwon scoffed.

"Do you like Danielle?" Sunoo asked. "No. She's annoying, obnoxious, and she skips class." Jungwon replied, "I don't like people like her." Sunoo nodded with a sly grin and handed Jungwon his notes.

"Jungwon!" Danielle yelled, catching up to him. "What?" Jungwon sighed. "Thanks for today. You saved me from a teacher and found my phone." Danielle said. Jungwon smiled and raised his eyebrows, "I'm amazing." "I take it back." Danielle scoffed.

"I'm kidding, Dani." Jungwon chuckled. "Don't say that nickname." Danielle said suddenly. "Why not?" Jungwon asked. "At least not in public. People think we like each other." Danielle said. "But I'm just a friend... giving you a nickname." Jungwon said, frowning a bit and dropping his shoulders.

"They think it's some romantic love story. The girl who's always getting in trouble with the boy who stays out of trouble." Danielle scoffed. "They're delusional." Jungwon said. "Agreed." Danielle replied.

"Do you take the bus home?" Jungwon asked. "I don't like the bus, so I usually walk. Why?" Danielle asked. "I'll walk home with you." Jungwon said. "But your house is that way and-" "It's daylight saving time. It gets dark sooner. I'm simply making sure to get home safe like a good friend would." Jungwon said. "Fine." Danielle shrugged.

Jungwon smiled a bit as they walked down the sidewalk. "Have you heard of that place with really good pork? I would kill to go there." Danielle said. "I went last weekend actually." Jungwon said. "Lucky!" Danielle frowned. "You're welcome to come with my family and I." Jungwon said. "No, no,

I'm sure your family won't like me. I'm no better out of school than I am in school. And it would be awkward." Danielle said. "My family loves everyone." Jungwon said. Danielle shook her head, "maybe I can go when I'm older."

"Why can't you go now?" Jungwon asked. "My parents live in Australia. I'm staying here with my sister, but she's in college. So I'm usually by myself. My sister doesn't have time to take me places." Danielle sighed. Jungwon frowned, "see now you have to go out to eat with me and my family."

Danielle folded her arms, "I decline your offer." "Accept it." Jungwon said. "No." Danielle replied. "Yes." Jungwon said. "No." Danielle repeated. They kept going on and on until Danielle finally agreed, "fine." Jungwon smiled.

"Don't I need your number?" Danielle asked. "You have it." Jungwon said. "No I don't- Yang Jungwon." Danielle said, looking at him. "I was going to prank you and pretend to be Youngjae." Jungwon laughed. "Give me his number." Danielle demanded.

"You're young. You shouldn't be worrying about boys." Jungwon said. "You sound like my sister." Danielle scoffed. "Your sister's right. Listen to her." Jungwon said, tussling her hair.

"This is my house. Shoo." Danielle said, pulling out her key. "What floor do you live on?" Jungwon asked. "The 1st one. Stop worrying." Danielle chuckled walking in. Jungwon sighed and put his hands in his pockets.
