December 11, 1968 - 12:23 pm -[Btw Daens lunch Time]
Toni spoke in a friendly tone as she wrapped Daen's knuckles, "And when you throw a punch, you need to keep your fist tight."
Daen watched his mother carefully, as she continued, "It's basic physics, dissipating the force of impact. Otherwise, you'll end up damaging your knuckles and wrists."
Toni gently placed his hand down and stood up, heading towards the sink to wash the blood off her hands.
"Of course, all of this is irrelevant, because you're never going to hit anyone again, are you?" Toni remarked, her hands still soapy from the cleaning.
"He asked where my dad was, said I was too nice because I had no male role model," Daen tried to explain, but Toni quickly cut him off with a dismissive wave of her hand.
"Antonio is a little S-H-I-T" Toni dried her hands as she spoke.
"A shit" Daen echoed.
"You're not meant to say the word, that's the point of spelling it out," Toni explained with a slight sigh.
"Kid, you will apologize, okay?" Toni requested as she opened the bathroom door.
"We don't solve our problems with violence" Toni advised, holding the door open for Daen to pass through.
Toni closed the door, and turned to face Daen. "You know better than to resort to violence, Daen. You're smarter than that," she said sternly.
Daen felt a knot form in his stomach. He knew he had made a mistake, and now he had to face the consequences. "I'm sorry, Mom. I won't do it again," he said softly.
Toni's expression softened, and she placed a hand on his shoulder. "I know you won't, Daen. You're a good kid, but you need to learn to control your temper," she said with a reassuring smile.
Toni casually suggested, "Let's remember to ice it when we get home to prevent any swelling," as they strolled out of the market.
Daen expressed concern by murmuring, "Mommy's not going to be happy."
"Don't worry, sweetheart, Mommy well be fine, Don't stress kid" Toni reassured him, enveloping Daen in a comforting embrace.
Daen continued to worry, gazing at his bandaged knuckles, expressing, "Mommy's still upset with Dale."
"Dale situation is different, Were treat each situation differently, buddy," Toni explained.
Daen couldn't help but keep his gaze fixed on his knuckles, feeling a knot of worry form in his stomach. The thought of his mother's impending reaction weighed heavily on his mind, he disliked causing any disappointment, particularly to his mothers.
[At Home - Be prepared]
Toni and Daen, entered the house through the welcoming front door. Toni, carefully placed the keys inside the key bowl near the entrance. Meanwhile, Daen attempted to tiptoe stealthily up the stairs, hoping to go unnoticed. However, his plans were foiled as his ever-attentive mother, called out his name from the Kitchen.
"Daen!" Cheryl's voice rang out, interrupting his sneaky ascent.
Caught in the act, Daen halted his movements, reversing his steps as he descended back down the stairs to face his mother.
Daen stood at the kitchen doorway and said in a friendly tone, "Yes, mom."
Cheryl, while cutting up strawberries, motioned for Daen to come closer, saying, "Come here."
