Cheryl and Toni awoke from their cozy bed, the morning sunlight gently filtering through the curtains. They smiled as they realized their three precious children were still sound asleep. As Cheryl slowly got up, Toni tenderly supported her, being extra careful, knowing how delicate this stage of pregnancy was. Hand in hand, they made their way down the stairs, with Toni assisting.
They settled on the plush couch, Cheryl sinking into its comfort with Toni's help.
Toni, ever the nurturing partner, strolled into the kitchen, asking, "You hungry, cher?"
Cheryl, with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes, replied, "When am I not hungry? I am eating for two, after all!" She let out a playful smirk that melted Toni's heart.
Toni chuckled and leaned on the counter, asking, "What are you feeling, my love?"
"Um, I think I just want some mac n cheese and pickles with ketchup," Cheryl said, trying to reach the remote with her belly.
Toni walked over and picked up the remote, turning on the TV before handing it to Cheryl.
"You want that for breakfast? What about pancakes, waffles, eggs?" Toni suggested.
"No, that makes me want to vomit just thinking about it," Cheryl replied, a grimace on her face.
"Okay, my love," Toni said, not willing to argue with the pregnant woman. They both knew cravings could be unpredictable.
Toni stood in the warm kitchen, a smile spreading across her face as she stirred the creamy cheese into the bubbling pot of macaroni noodles. Grace and Daen, their giggles echoing through the house, came thundering down the stairs.
"Mac n cheese!" they called out joyfully, sparkling with excitement.
Toni chuckled, her heart warmed by their youthful enthusiasm. Cheryl, content on the couch, joined in the laughter. Just then, Dale, the responsible big brother, descended the steps with a yawn. "
Why are you kids up so early on a Friday, you guys have late start its six am?" Toni questioned, her eyes filled with curiosity.
As she watched Grace and Daen climb onto the bar stool. Daen was struggling a bit, but before Toni could assist
and Dale instinctively walked over and nudging his younger brother up onto the stool.
"I got it, Dale," Daen proudly proclaimed.
Dale smirked, "Sure you did, little bro," Dale teased, slouching back in the chair. Toni couldn't help but laugh as she grabbed the plates.
"Why mac n cheese for breakfast?" Dale questioned.
"Well, mommy is craving it," Toni explained, her hands skillfully creating the plates of deliciousness. Cheryl turned around slightly, her belly rounding with pregnancy.
"You guys talking about me? Well, I'm not the only one craving it," Cheryl interjected, her warm smile spreading across her face. "This little munchkin inside of me wants it too."
Everyone chuckled, Toni turned around and grabbed the pickles and ketchup out of the fridge.
Grace, curious, couldn't help but inquire, "What's that for, Momma?"
A mischievous grin tugged at Toni's lips as she leaned closer to whisper, "Oh, Mommy has a nasty craving. She wants it on top of her mac n cheese."
"Ew," Grace wrinkled her nose in disgust.
Undeterred by her daughter's reaction, Toni proceeded to pour the crimson liquid, garnishing the plate of steaming mac n cheese with tangy pickles.
Turning to her son Dale, Toni pleaded, "Dale, can you please take this to your mother?"
