Chapter 2

Lea's perspective

I wrapped my arms around Nick and pulled him into a kiss. I pulled away and grabbed his hand and stood in front of Derek.

- Derek, I would like you to meet my boyfriend Nick. Babe I would like you to meet my soon to be brother, I said and introduced them both.

- Nice to meet you, Derek said and looked around instead of my boyfriend.

- We should go to school now, I said and we all started to walk. It felt weird having Nick and Derek near each other.

I arrived in class a little bit late because I had to show Derek around and to the main office. As I stepped in the classroom everyone stared at me like I've just killed someone.

- Why are you late, the teacher asked.

- I'm sorry. I was showing the new student to the main office, I answered. I was going to say that he was my step brother but it wasn't really anyone's business.

- Alright. Please take a seat, the teacher said and continued with the lesson. Until I heard the door open. Everyone stopped and looked at the door.

- Sorry to interrupt. We have a new student joining us today, the principal said and walked away.

- Welcome. Please introduce yourself, the teacher said.

- Hi I'm Derek, he said and introduced himself.

- Derek, please take a seat. You can sit next to Lea, the teacher said and pointed at me. I looked at the empty seat and looked back at Derek as he started to walk towards the seat. Derek looked at me and smiled and then looked back at the teacher. I was feeling the butterflies and a bit excited at the fact that Derek was sitting next to me. What's wrong with me?

Later at home

When I got home I walked to the kitchen to get a glass of water when I noticed a note on the counter. I took the note and sat down on one of the chairs.

" Neither me or my fiance will be home until later tonight so you and Derek can order pizza for dinner"

I looked at the counter and saw the money for the pizza

- Where is mom and your dad, Derek suddenly said out of nowhere.

I jumped up and put my hand on my chest.

- Derek! You scared me, I said and took a deep breath. Derek just smiled and sat down next to me.

- Well I guess that they are going to be busy for a while. So they left money for pizza, I said and smiled.

- So we have the house alone, Derek asked.

- Basically, I answered.

- This should be fun, Derek said and smiled.

After a while the pizza arrived. Me and Derek sat down on the floor leaning our backs on the couch. The pizza box was wide open right in front of us.

- How did you enjoy your first day in our school, I asked and ate a slice of the pizza.

- Boring, Derek said and ate his piece of pizza.

- I mean what did you expect. It's the school that we are talking about, I said and laughed. I looked at Derek as he smiled while taking a bite of the pizza.

- Can I ask you something, he asked and looked at me.

- Sure, I said and drank my drink.

- How long have you and your boyfriend been together, he asked.
