I never liked Black Friday. I just found people annoying when they kept screaming and fighting about clothes they would never use in the future.

Still, I sat inside a cafe in the mall. He really liked this coffeehouse. I didn't really know why, it was just like all the others but I guess it had a cozy feel to it.

I looked at the text I had sent him. 'Meet me at Pam's 5 o'clock tomorrow.' He didn't reply but I knew he saw it.

To kill time I had ordered a cappuccino. I knew I had come early but I wanted to be there before he came.

When I saw him walk in, I figured he had the same idea. Weirdly enough, it was kinda good to see him.

He noticed me. He looked hurt. I guess I too, looked hurt but I was recovering from a sickness which emphasized the undertone of my ugliness (Which apparently was only visible the first time you saw me).

Before he came over he ordered himself a plain cup of coffee.

He sat down facing me. There was complete silence for a few seconds before he started talking.

"I take it you read my email."

"I did," I said before taking another sip.

We acted like we didn't give a crap about each other but I could tell he could barely continue playing that game.

He leaned forward over the table looking deeply into my eyes. "Lucy, I never meant to hurt you."

I stopped drinking and put my cup down. Then I leaned forward as well until our noses were only inches away from each other.

"Oh, but you did, didn't you?"

We were quiet for a while.

"I never had sex with Blake."

He looked down in shame, and sat back in his chair like he was realizing what he'd done. He opened his mouth as to say something but closed it again. "I don't know what to say."

"Yeah, well me neither, Logan." I shook my head and also sat back. "You told me your fucking father had died. You made me look like an idiot. I bet you thought that was real fucking funny."

"Hey, calm down. In my defense you weren't giving in. Like, at all. I was desperate."

I started raising my voice. "Oh, so you just told me your father had died at the top of your head?" I looked around consciously aware that people were looking at us by now, so I cleared my throat. "Very clever," I continued bitterly.

"Look," he scratched his head eerily. "I said that before I knew."

I raised my brows. "Knew what?"

"I love you."

"Yeah and that's why you cheated on me twice," I noted sarcastically.

He shook his head. "It wasn't like that. I don't love her."

I sighed and I think somehow I started blushing a little. It was kinda sweet. "And what am I supposed to say to that?"

"That you love me back?"

I didn't answer. The tension grew stronger between us and every second that passed I felt like we were closer and closer together.

"Fine." He stood up.

"Logan-"

"This relationship isn't going anywhere, is it?" He asked quietly and shakily.

I opened my mouth as to say something but bit my lip before saying anything stupid.
