This is a re-telling.
The original stories are titled with the author in the book's bio. I did not create Finny and Autumn although I wish I had a part in it because I would have done things differently, evidently because here we are.
I highly advise you to read at least book one "If He Had Been With Me" before reading this.
Laura Nowlin has a mind of her own. I cherish that mind for bringing me sweet baby boy Finny and our precious Autumn. My writing style will not match Laura's as I'm not a professional writer, she is unique, with her own writing style that I simply can't duplicate to a T. Im a high school student who's over-sensitive and cries over every book she reads. This book inparticular has made me sob for hours and days on end. Then came book two. As beautiful as Finny and Autumn's story was, I feel like all the characters deserved more. I wanted that happy ending so bad that I dreamt about it but was reluctant to write it because of the fan base. Then I commented asking if I should make a retelling and I had about 24 notifications very adamantly telling me yes in the first 10 minutes.
It is to be remembered that Finny is dead and he always will be. This is not an add-on to the book and it's not meant to be, this is simply because I can't stop crying and so that I can feel at peace with their story ending along with so many other readers.
I know you're not real but, Finny Smith you have affected the world far more than you think, may you rest in peace.
This is what's waiting for you in another life.
