"Lloyd you shouldn't be fighting, you're still recovering" argued Wu while walking onto the deck where he saw Kai teaching him, something that had started up only the say before.
"Uh but uncle, if I ever get attacked by a snake or an enemy I can defend myself now" Lloyd reasoned as he turned away from Kai and to his uncle.
"While basic self defence is important, I hope you will never need to defend yourself.I hoped you were planning on staying here, with us and the ninja to protect you." said Wu as Nya came up from behind him.
"I'm sorry uncle but the ninja can't protect me from everything, and they certainly can't be around me twenty-four/seven." Explained Lloyd giving a short glance to the ninja then turning back to his uncle, that was their job- protect people, but they weren't everywhere. He was certain he'd need to protect himself first before relying on the ninja.
"True but they can protect you most of the time." said Nya walking up to Lloyd who was half her size.
"But for now, there's an alert for snake activity on the north side of Ninjago and they need you ninja." continued Nya looking at each of the ninja, her brother included.
"Sorry Lloyd we'll continue training later" said Kai as Zane, Cole and Jay all ran to the side of the ship and jumped off with their golden weapons.
Sensei left the deck without another word leaving Nya and Lloyd alone.
"Come on pintsize show me what you got" said Nya before Lloyd looked at her and got into a fighting stance.

"Hey anyone seen any snakes?" Asked Jay kicking a pebble into a gutter.
"I must agree with Jay, I believe we have lost their positions" said Zane scanning the area once more and coming up with nothing.
"Let's head back" said Cole.

"Leaving so soon" said a smug voice behind the ninja making them quickly turn around, readying each other for a fight.
"Garmadon" said Kai with venom in his voice as they all saw lord Garmadon standing in front of a large group of snakes including the snake generals.

"Does Garmadon know about Lloyd?" Whispered Jay to Kai as they all got ready for a fight, each of them knowing that the information of where the villain's son was could be dangerous knowledge should it get out.
"Let's hope not" replied Kai
"I believe we're supposed to fight you and win now Garmadon" yelled Cole before they all ran at lord Garmadon and the snakes.
"Ninja-go" yelled all the ninja starting with their power moves, spinjitzu.
The battle continued for awhile before either most of the snakes were running away or unconscious on the ground. Lord Garmadon stood in front of the snake generals as they watched their snakes fail them.
"We should retreat lord Garmadon" said skales turning to the other generals and lord Garmadon.
"Very well" said lord Garmadon as he followed behind the generals as they did just that. The barely battle over and without much injury to the ninja.

"Lord Garmadon why are you stopping" asked one of the generals
"Don't question my actions and orders general" said lord Garmadon as the generals offed submissively and continued up the stairs and to the roof where they waited in their snake bit helicopter.

"Lord Garmadon and the snake generals got away" said Zane as they finished the fight with the remaining snakes, all of which were now down and out for the count.
"To bad I really wanted to beat some sense into him for what he did to the kid" said Cole
"We should head back there's no more snakes to deal with" said Kai double checking they head beaten every snake around before turning back to his friends.

Garmadon continued to watch from the building as the ninja regrouped and were about to head off when a voice called out to them.
"Ahhhhhh I missed all the action, told you we should have come earlier" said a voice coming towards the ninja.
"Lloyd! What are you doing here" said Kai running up to Lloyd and placing a hand on his shoulder to stop him from coming any closer to the site- countless bodies of unconscious snakes littered the ground.
"He really wanted to get out of the bounty and see you all fight for real" said Nya coming from around the corner and walking up to Lloyd alongside her brother.
"You need to slow down I couldn't even keep up" continued Nya as she kneed down to Lloyd's height and gave him a small and quick hug, the show of physical affection was something Lloyd had been slowly getting used to.
"Wow, when did you guys become best friends?" asked Jay, he wanted a hug too.
"We've got some things in common" said Nya giving a small smile and breaking the hug.

As Gramadon saw his son arrive he was shocked at how much he had grown, and how much the ninja and the girl liked and valued him. How did Lloyd even meet them.
"When we get back can you guys teach me some more hand to hand combat or even better how to be a ninja!" Said Lloyd nearly jumping up and down on the spot, even pretending to do some of the moves the boys had already taught him.
"Sure thing kid" said Cole as they all started to walk back to the bounty.
"You know sensei will not approve" said Zane as they continued walking and soon were out of Lord Garmadon's sight.

"How did this happen" said Garmadon quietly not moving off his spot. 'how did the ninja meet Lloyd, how long has Lloyd been with them, does Lloyd want to follow in their footsteps, would Lloyd become a ninja and fight against me?' So many questions ran around Garmadon's mind before he decided it was time to go and left.
"I'm getting my son back even if I have to take him myself"

"Good night Lloyd" said Zane
"Yeah night kid" said cole
"Sleep well Lloyd" said Kai
"Don't fall out of bed it hurts, oh and sleep well" said Jay before they all closed the door leaving the small blonde haired boy alone in the medical room.
Alone, only him and his thoughts. 'what am I doing? I'm starting to really like the ninja, but I can't. I have to go home- no, just to dad, I don't have a real home and I can't forget my father. I just need to leave this place and get to the underworld or wherever my dad is, right....but....I enjoy myself here and learning from the ninja is great, what do I do?' thought Lloyd as the darkness grew in his room. Lloyd used to be scared of the dark, but when he found out who his father was he wasn't as scared any more- he liked to imagine it was the closest he could get to his father in his current position. Lord Garmadon, his father, who would protect him, right?
But the way the ninja talked about Lloyd's father, it made him doubt. So, tonight when he fell asleep he was afraid of the dark and being alone, again.

"Is my nephew in bed?" Asked sensei Wu as the ninja entered the main room.
"Yes sensei" said Zane
"Sensei would Garmadon know about Lloyd staying with us" asked Kai worried about Lloyd's safety.
"I...dont know" said sensei turning to Nya as she watched the ninja fight on the screens, reviewing their actions and movements, each snake they took down and estimating how many had escaped- if it was only the generals and Garmadon, or more.
"Let's hope he doesn't" said Jay
"Sensei, what would Garmadon do if he knew Lloyd was with us?" asked Cole, the thought had been on each of the ninja's mind since their most recent fight.
"He would want Lloyd back, he never wanted Lloyd near me and you his enemies, he would see it as an act or war." Answered sensei not turning around to his ninja, though they each knew the expression of fear and doubt that would be displayed.
"Then we have to protect Lloyd" said Kai taking a step forwards.
"Exactly" agreed Cole and Jay
"Sensei what would Garmadon do to Lloyd if he had him" asked Zane, the last ninja having run many simulations through his head in the event that Garmadon did get Lloyd.
"I trust that he would keep Lloyd safe, but I fear it would be in the darkness of the underworld." replied sensei turning and making his way to the door.
"It's late you should all get some sleep" continued sensei before exiting the room.
"We have to keep Lloyd away from his father and safe" said Kai as everyone else agreed including Nya.
