The next few weeks flew by, and before Felix knew it, it was the end of September. He'd finally gotten to speak to the quiet girl he always saw in the common room, Poppy, during their Care of Magical Beasts classes, and he'd immediately taken a liking to her. He'd heard whispers about her and had quickly realised she was rather misunderstood, and he definitely could understand why she'd rather hang around beasts than humans most of the time. There was still daily chatter about him in the halls, and Felix had grown tired of it very fast.

They'd bonded over a mutual dislike of gossiping and a love for magical creatures, and Felix had even been out of the castle with Poppy once to help her take down a poacher camp just outside of Hogsmeade. They hadn't been planning on dismantling the camp, just investigating, but when Felix saw those sweet beasts locked up in cages, he couldn't help what came over him, and before he knew it he was charging into their camp and stunning the lot of them, sending word to the local Aurors to come and clean up the mess.

As well as that, he'd been working with Professor Fig to figure out the meaning behind the chambers and the memories they had found, and slowly they were uncovering more details about the book they'd discovered, which unfortunately had two missing pages which were proving to be crucial.

Between the extracurricular activities, homework and working to get caught up on his missed magical training, Felix was feeling a bit exhausted and slumped down gratefully on the couch in the Undercroft one evening with Sebastian and Ominis. Sebastian had been pouring over the tome he'd taken from the restricted section a few weeks back, while Felix and Ominis worked on some homework, enjoying the quiet Sebastian was currently awarding them.

"Did you hear they lifted the quidditch ban?" he said after he'd been quiet for a while.

"No? When did that happen?" Ominis asked.

"Just this afternoon. I only know because I heard Imelda screeching about it as I left the common room earlier," Sebastian laughed.

"Hmm," Ominis said curiously. "Trying out again?"

"Not this year, I don't think. Too busy," Sebastian said back, turning a page in his book and scribbling down some notes.

"Did you play before?" Felix asked him.

"Yeah, in third and fourth year, Beater. I enjoyed it but with everything going on I don't wanna be distracted," he said with a sigh.

Sebastian suddenly looked up from his book. "You should try out for your team, though! You've definitely got a Beater's build," he said excitedly.

"What exactly does that mean?" Felix said confused.

"You know. Tall, broad shoulders, strong. A good enough aim to knock the other team off their brooms," Sebastian laughed.

"Thanks?" Felix laughed back. "I dunno if I'm super jazzed at the idea of my whole purpose being to knock someone off their broom, though," he said honestly. That for some reason made Ominis chuckle. He always seemed to laugh at the most random things that Felix said, and it confused him, but he'd grown used to it now.
