Trigger Warning: Racism, swearing, suicide

1. Never get too connected to another countrymaster, even if they're your own blood.

"Please.. East, just.. Put it down. Let me talk to you," West Germany said, pleading with his sister to put the gun down and away from her head.

"No! You have no idea what it was like for me! You got to live with all the higher ups and I had to starve because I wanted my foster siblings to survive!"

"I-"

"I had to become a mother to a fuckton of children because the damn politicians wouldn't let Soviet be with his children! Do you know what that's like?!"

"I-... I'm so sorry."

"Oh, you're sorry? Well, I guess that just magically fixes everything! Welcome to the real world, West. Things don't work like that."

"..."

"Y'know, I'm kinda glad you weren't me. Those kids would've been dead the first week with you. You barely know how to take care of yourself."

"...yes I do."

"What? What was that?" East said, in a mocking tone. She'd never exploded at West Germany like this before, but it had all became too much. "I'd LOVE to see you do my job!"

"Look, East. I'm sorry I couldn't help, but you know what restrictions they put on me were! But I can help now!"

"It's too late for that now, Germany. You missed your chance 28 years ago. The wall's gone and the country is one. I serve no purpose anymore," Her voice almost sounded monotone at this point, as if she had accepted it long ago. West Germany barely even noticed that she called him Germany as he tried to keep her alive without getting harmed.

"No! We-we can work together! There can be an east region and a west region, it'll work, please! Don't do this!" His desperation for his sister to stay alive was evident in his voice and movements as he tried to pull the gun away, before being shoved backward.

"This is what happens when you get shielded from everything. You become a coward to the real world.
"I should've listened to Soviet and never came back for you."

With her final words, East Germany shot herself in the head, killing herself immediately. Her twin, now Germany, broke down in tears, with a million different emotions going through his head.

Germany was inconsolable for the next few days, before becoming just like East was before her death. Numb.

2. People will backstab you at the first chance they get so never get too trusting.

"We did it! Aztec is gone!"

Zapotec looked over at Spanish Empire to see if he had any comment on the matter, only to be greeted with a stiff face. Oh well. She wasn't going to get an answer in a language she understood anyway.

She looked over at Yope to see if he was happy, and by golly he was. The Yope had rebelled against Aztec invasions for quite a long time now, so he was quite thrilled to see Aztec gone. While he didn't trust Spanish Empire, he was still willing to work with him if it meant Aztec would permanently "go away."

Spanish Empire looked at the two tribes, before starting to pull out his long sword out from his waist band.
Yope said something that Zapotec couldn't understand, in his language, but his tone was clear: What is going on?

"Spain... What are you doing? Aztec is gone..." Zapotec said, shakily. She didn't want to believe he was backstabbing them. Not when he helped them get rid of their main enemy. It was clear that Yope was incredibly mad at his and Zapotec's newfound enemy, as he took his spear and tried to stab Spain with it.

It proved to be useless, as his neck was slashed as fast as he grabbed his spear.

Zapotec stood silent, unsure of what to do. One of her greatest friends, someone she'd known since childhood, was gone and it was because of their... "friend?"

Spanish Empire finally said something, breaking the silence that held the living tribe in a chokehold.
"Mira, no podrías haber sido tan estúpido como para pensar que no iba a hacer esto," (Look, you couldn't have been stupid enough to think I wasn't going to do this.) he said, Zapotec confused as she didn't understand Spanish. Not yet, anyway.
"Usted se interpone en mi camino para conseguir tierras y haré cualquier cosa para conseguirlas. Incluso si eso significa matarte a ti y a todos los pieles rojas que veo." (You stand in my way of getting land and I will do anything to get it. Even if it means killing you and every other redskin I see.)

As soon as he finished those words, he picked up his sword once more before suddenly being halted.
It was none other than a Mayan girl Spanish Empire had taken. She was holding a metal bar, of which stopped the sword from going down despite Spain's efforts. The girl looked to be in her teens, maybe even very early twenties, but her voice sounded much younger.
"Áalkab! Jo'os a ta wéet!" (Run! Save yourself!)

As Zapotec ran, praying the girl would be okay, she renounced the Spaniard and promised she'd never trust them, or anyone else, again.

3. Never disobey your citizens, even if it goes against all you stand for.

"So this is it? We're just.. done?" Sámi said, disbelief prominent in her voice. Her lover just looked down at his shoes in shame. He had nothing to say that could possibly help this.
"I don't understand. He's a human. Surely you have more power than him," Once she finished saying that, Denmark looked up at her, face mixed with disbelief and anger,

"You think that's how it works? They'll kill me if I say no," Denmark said, eyes glossy. "It's happened to other people. I-... Our relationship can't stay in the way any longer."

Sámi became furious and stomped the cold, winter snow before yelling,
"I thought you cared for people like me! I thought race didn't matter! You're just like the lot of them, you dievva." (twat.)

It became too much for Denmark, and started to sob before yelling back at her,
"I DO CARE! I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE YOU! THEY'LL TAKE MY KIDS, THEY-... they threatened to take Finland, for Odin's sakes!"
Sámi gasped. Finland was hers and Denmark's daughter, and was only a few months old at this point. She lived with her mother (Sámi) up north, and every now and then Denmark would come to visit.

They both stared at each other, both knowing what was going to happen but not wanting to say it out loud.

Denmark stepped towards Sámi, leaned in giving her a small kiss on the cheek, before saying,
"Jeg elsker dig, Sámi. Altid og for evigt." (I love you, Sámi. Always and forever.)
Sámi wasn't able to respond before Denmark left, making it be the last thing she ever heard from her lover before her death a few weeks later.
