"Mija levántate!!" My dad yelled as I got up from bed. "Ya voy!!" I yelled back. I put on a navy blue carhart jacket, with my black baggy pants, and a dark grey shirt. I brushed my teeth, grabbed my backpack, and ran downstairs. "Apa I dont have practice today. He canceled because they are fixing the field or something." I told him. "Ok esta bien." He replied. He got home late all the time, only if it didnt snow or rain. Before I walked out to go to school, I told him bye and gave him a quick hug. Isa was talking to me about some winter dance the school was holding. How I should ask Mel out to dance and everything. But I wanted to do more than that. Asking her the official question: If she wanted to be my girlfriend.

I was in third period with Isa and Ale, and they
were helping plan how I would ask her to the dance. "You should draw her something and make a little gift basket with things she likes!" Ale said. "Omg yes! And then match with each other at the dance too!!" Isa told me. "Wait wait so how should I ask her though? I am going to give her a gift basket, but like what do I even say?" I replied to both of them. "Just tell her!! Say 'Do you want to go to the winter formal dance with me?' Its simple!" Isa answered me. "Yea, me and Isa will bring you here so you dont have to spoil the surprise!" Ale added. "Okay then. What if she says no?" I said. Isa looked at Ale and Ale looked at Isa and they said she will definitely say yes.

It was the end of the day and I was walking Mel to her house. "I'll see you tommorow lex!" Mel told me and she hugged me. "See you tommorow Mel." I replied hugging her back. She walked inside her house, and I walked to the store. Isa and Ale were meeting up with me to help me buy some things. "Hi lex!" Ale yelled and Isa waved hi. I walked inside the store with them. "Imma get her some candy and chips." I told them. "Yes definitely get that she loves chips!" Isa said. Ale went to go get a gift basket, a card, and gift paper. Isa went to go get some things for her room. I got her matching bracelets, and a book since she liked reading. "We got a lot of stuff.." Isa whispered as she walked past an employee. "We did.." Ale added. I laughed and we all went to pay. Obviously I didnt have money to buy everything they got, so we all chipped in. "Thank you guys by the way, none of my old friends would have done this for me." I told them. "Aww your welcome lex youre our friend of course we will help you!" Ale yelled. "Yess youre our best friend now so you are trapped haha!!" Isa added and started laughing. Ale left and took the stuff home because she wanted to put everything together. Me and Isa walked together and then parted ways.

"Mija what are you doing?" My dad said as he walked in my room. "Im drawing." I replied. He hovered over my desk and responded with," That looks nice, voy ir a la tienda. If you want something call." "Ohhh apa can you get me some bandages for soccer?" I asked. "Sure I be back." He replief and left my room. I continued drawing. My drawing was a willow tree which is Mel's favorite tree. After I finished, I drew hydrangeas too since they were her favorite flowers. Ale let me keep the card so I can write in it. Isa also lent me some ribbon so I can make those ribbon roses for Mel. In my card I wrote: Thank you for being there for me whenever I needed it. You helped me with so much and I just want to be part of every step in your life. Everything about you is perfect in my eyes, and I really do like you. I always think about you, how beautiful you look, your pretty smile, and how I always want to be with you. I couldnt imagine my life without you. You have made me feel so much more like myself, and I havent felt like this for anyone. I put the card in the envelope and then started on her roses. It took forever, but I got it done. Ale and Isa were going to bring the gift basket tommorow for me. I was going to give them the roses, drawings, and card in third period.
