𓏲ּ author's perspective :

"I wish we get to have a good psychology teacher this year!" Sang hee groaned in annoyance, burying her head in the back pack making Yejin and Soo ah chuckle at her delusional hopes.

"And it'll be better if we won't get Mr. Park as our homeroom teacher, I'll really jump off from here, I'm telling you girls." Soo ah added, as the girls sighed.

"Now when we are reaching the delusional peak, why don't we pray for a handsome psychology teacher?" Yejin said as Sang hee shaked her head in pure disappointment, "And you think his face will get us marks in finals?"

Yejin rolled her eyes at her comment but a part of her knew they are stupid and nothing will be in their favor. "At least we can start coming to school everyday if he has good visuals." Yejin said in a defensive tone.

The warning bell rang as the first class was soon to be started, all the three of them got up to be upstairs for their economics class, Yejin being slow as usual took more time to gather her things to walk out of the class while the other two of them waited in the corridor, hurrying up they went for the stairs when a figure was helped not to be bumped into Yejin.

Her steps stopped as she let out a breath of relief, and clutched her stationary when her eyes went up to meet the face, he was tall. Like really tall.

Actually the tallest boy in their school Yejin ever came across to.

Her eyebrows furrowed as the face was new, his eyes softened and a faint smile crept to his lips.

Yejin felt even more confusion as she made a weird expression out of habit and quickly walked past him, joining her girls soon.

Coming in contact with a boy, who god knows why smiled at her in the morning? How bad could the day get?

"He looked so tall from behind. Is he handsome?" Soo ah asked out of curiosity as they walked upstairs, "I don't know, it was a mere second eye contact." Yejin answered, still unsure because he looked familiar and new at the same time.

"What? You're kidding me! You guys looked at each other, and you didn't even see his face? Come on!" Soo ah again questioned making Yejin get confused more as she thought about it.

"I really don't know, okay? New faces always float in the air for me, I can't even remember how he looked." Yejin answered, still lingering over the unsureness of the moment she shared.

"You got a memory of goldfish then." Sang hee commented making Yejin mimic her words in annoyance.

Their first class was soon over as the trio headed towards their classroom for the rest of the day, as they entered Yejin and Sang hee walked in front while Soo ah was almost hidden behind them, both of their eyes quickly went to the new figure sitting at the front, already staring at them but with a neutral expression this time.

Their steps stopped as both the girls had an eerie look on their faces,
"Yejin you already don't like him? Speak up too Sang hee." Their class teacher, Mr. Park, taunted, like always being a hyena in disguise for his students.

No one liked him a bit.

Apart from his so called *good girls students* which fortunately Yejin's group could never be a part of.

Sang hee again glanced at the boy and the three made their way to the seat, when Yejin spoke up with obviously a not so pleasant smile, "There is nothing like that, sir."

The boy turned to look at them and faced in front again. Mr. Park returned the same fake smile to her too.

"Why don't you come up here and introduce yourself to the class?" Mr. Park switched to his angelic tone as the boy nodded and without any hesitation stood up and with a formal smile said, "Hello everyone. I'm Nishimura Riki, but please call me Ni-ki though, and yeah I'm japanese and I'll be studying with you guys as I'm repeating my final year. So treat me nicely."

He bowed and reciprocating Mr. Park's smile he went back to his seat, joining the boys.

Soo ah's head quickly turned to both the girls sitting behind her as she smiled enthusiastically, "He is tall, handsome, and older! Damn." But something still felt off to the other two.

"He could be a jerk? He's a boy after all." Sang hee chipped in, resulting in Soo ah to sigh.

"Yejin don't tell me you're thinking negative too?" Yejin smiled at the hope Soo ah had from this Ni-ki.

"I mean he is good looking, but too soon to say anything." She then raised her hands in the air, surrendering.

"But he seems like a nice person." Soo ah remarked, "You find everyone nice. Don't fall too quickly." Yejin said as Sang hee nodded in agreement.

"He is confident and I can tell girls will be surrounding him in no time, just a guitar and the clichè male lead category done." She later scoffed just thinking how obvious his image will be in future.

"Yeah he'll be popular in no time." Even Soo ah agreed to this. "I bet it'll just be 2 weeks!" Yejin spoke up confidently.

"You're too sure about him huh Yejin?" Soo ah asked, teasing her with a smirk.

Yejin laughed and denied it completely.

"No, I just love when things fall how I predict them to be." She said in defense.

"Well you can date him, popular new boy × popular you." Soo ah stated excitedly, "No means no. It's last year and I'm not going to be distracted."

Yejin answered strictly, but somewhere she was hoping he won't turn out like other jerks of this school.

At least not the one who dates half the girls before a semester.

The next class started as Soo ah turned straight and Yejin looked at Sang hee with a curious tone, "Ni-ki sounds familiar right?"

"Not to me." Sang hee replied.

"Come on, try a bit. Any similarities with kpop idols?" Yejin asked again but Sang hee shrugged, denying it.

"Any k actors? J actors?" She asked again but got the same nonchalant response from Sang hee a second time as well. "Why are you asking though?"

Yejin just shaked her head saying not to think about it too much as she sighed, still a bit impatient as to where she heard it.

It sounded familiar, not only Ni-ki but his full name too, but she still wasn't able to click the bait at all.

Letting out a disappointed sigh, her eyes unknowingly glanced at Ni-ki's direction as he was busy with other boys when his eyes looked at her and she quickly turned her head, finding Sang hee face mesmerizing to hide from the fact that she was staring at him.

Ni-ki looked at her for another moment when he again joined the ongoing conversation and chuckled to himself.

*She is cute.* He mumbled.
