"She does sound pretty." Taesan, one of Ni-ki's old friends, said over the phone before Ni-ki's scoffing could be heard clearly.
"Pretty? She's perfect, okay?" He said in a more serious tone than before as if he was really offended.
"Okay okay loverboy I get it, she's the goddess, happy now?" Taesan chuckled while admitting it to not make the things more heated.
"Yeah but it's kind of disappointing though, she and her friends didn't even care to give me a warm smile."
Niki said, sounding a bit low, "Maybe she's like those mean girls or has a boyfriend so she's not interested?"
Niki sighed trying to calm his anger. "You're not helping." He said in a bitter tone.
"Think for yourself, she sounds pretty and talented from the things you gathered about her so it's normal that she must be having a charming boyfriend too."
Taesan explained as Niki felt even more down, but Taesan is the only one who can listen without overreacting like others, because his hyungs will kill him if he dared to talk about her, considering she's the little sister Jungwon is so protective about, and he can't just tell anyone in school on the first day that he have a crush on Yejin.
"Yeah but I heard that she and her friends are anti-men." Niki said in a disappointed tone.
"What does it even mean?" Taesan asked, being extremely confused.
"That they don't talk with any boys apart from a guy who looks gay, and they have never dated anyone either." Niki explained the situation making Taesan chuckle, "Yeah but you haven't dated anyone either."
"I wasn't into any girls before but Yejin and her group? They all are pretty and it's actually surprising that they never dated anyone even when there's a lot of guys who have a crush on them." Taesan was a bit surprised but he soon figured out.
"We all know how relationships works these days, maybe they all must be serious about these things, it's a good sign though." Ni-ki finally smiled a bit, considering he has a chance, even if it means he can be her friend.
"Okay I'll call you later, I've been in the washroom for too long, bye!" Ni-ki said quickly and hung up the call, exiting the washroom and joining his new found friend group on the field.
