Now for the campaign to get truly underway and as for the image above, they are screenshots from the game. I'm not trying to show off though, honest. ;)
==================================
A day had passed and I was summoned to the CEO office, Malcolm was expecting me alone and I agreed. But I didn't expect Mustang to be in the room, as well as Sugar who was looking down. Something tells me that this wasn't going to be good news of any kind.
"Glad you could make it, Y/N. We've received tragic news, both GDI and TIA lost valuable allies." He said quietly. "Have a look at this."
He switched on the screen, showing recorded footage of yesterday's news.
"We've just received breaking news of a report from the Philadelphia Space Station, it would appear that a few moments ago, a missile was launched into the galaxy and struck the station, completely destroying it. This is a tragic loss for everyone within GDI, and to the hope of this world's desire for peace and an end to the flowing path of tiberium."
He then switched it off and sighed loudly. "What that reporter just said was right. The remains of the space station however, crashed landed into Fort Bradley, it took many of the lower ranked Nikkes, but worst of all, one of our summoners was caught in the blast."
I then looked at Sugar and she was depressed for sure.
"Oh...oh hell no...Tom?!"
Malcolm slowly nodded. "Yes...Tom was caught in the explosion, he was taken to one of our emergency rooms. Unfortunately...he didn't make it."
'Ah, shit...'
"As cruel as it sounds, we sadly do not have the time to grieve. For the situation escalated shortly after the Philadelphia attack. Due to this tragic outcome, his Nikkes were asked if they wished to be transferred to another summoner."
"Is that why she's here?"
"Oui, monsieur." Mustang answered. "Frima and Milk are busy being looked over for repairs. Sugar here was the only one who was unharmed. I then thought of you and brought her here."
"Okay, I think I see what we're getting at. You want to know if I'm willing to take her in?"
"Indeed." Malcolm nodded. "While you are not her original summoner, you can still do your best to be there for her. And if need be, she can join your team officially while we handle the rest."
I looked at Sugar and she had a depressed look, but with a hint of hope in her eyes.
"I only see one choice and I think it's the best one I have." I nodded with my hand out. "If you wish to, I'll happily take over and support you as much as you can support me. I'm sure Tom would've wanted it, too."
She nodded before holding my hand back. "Yeah, he would've wanted me to keep riding like a badass. Thanks for giving me a chance."
"No problem, welcome to the team."
"Ah merci, monsieur!" Mustang said happily. "You have such a kind heart!"
"In that case, I'm ready to call Granger." Malcolm switched on the screen.
There were a few people behind him rushing around and a few faint explosions.
"There you are, Malcolm. Is the Commander there?" Granger asked.
"I'm right here, General." I replied. "What in the world's going on?"
"Commander! All hell's broken loose. Nod's launched a preemptive strike in all of our GDI blue zones across the board. The attack on the Philadelphia was the signal for the surprise assault. Most of our troops are pinned down, our ASAT defence systems are still offline, and I have no idea who's running the show."
