Here we go with Act 4 of the campaign where the Scrin finally show up.
=================================
I could feel someone on top of me the moment I awoke the next morning. I looked to see Anis was cuddling me, holding onto me a little tight, but not to the point where I was struggling for air. Alice was next to me with her arms around my right arm.
I could only hug Anis back with my left arm which made her move.
"Mmm...don't leave...handsome..."
"I'm not going anywhere." I whispered as I kissed her on the forehead.
That made her move and slowly opened her eyes to see me. I could've asked if she was feeling better waking up with me, but I chose to be silent and use my actions to speak. Such as rubbing her face cheek that made her smile a little before sharing a soft kiss.
"Anis...I wanna stay like this forever as well. But we have to report to Malcolm." I said. "He'll surely have something to say after what happened yesterday."
"You're right. You can hold my hand while we walk, right?" She asked quietly.
I nodded. "Anytime."
Sharing another kiss, she got off me and I moved my arm from Alice and got out of bed to change into a fresh uniform. Alice then woke up and I quickly pulled her in for a hug which she accepted and cheered up with a smile and a kiss.
Heading downstairs, I made breakfast for the team who were looking a lot better. After going through that, we made our way to Malcolm's office while I held hands with Anis and Alice. When we got inside the office, Ingrid and Syuen were present. The mood was glum to say the least.
Ingrid gave me a nod while she clicked her tongue.
Syuen could only sigh as she looked down, she seems to be lost in thought.
"Morning, Y/N." Malcolm said. "It's a relief to have you back safe. Though I dearly wished I could say the same for everyone else back at Sarajevo. GDI and Nod lost thousands of lives when that tiberium bomb was triggered by the ion cannon."
"It was a great loss for the TIA as well." I replied.
"Yes..."
"But not every single one was killed." Ingrid said. "Before the GDI base was wiped out, Nod's commander and his Nikkes were last seen on a transport ship heading southeast to Australia. We have no further information on that."
'Oh, but I do. That's where Nod has a mission to secure the GDI nuke convoys, before the...oh shit! The Scrin! That means they'll be attacking any moment now!'
"Has there been any word from GDI?" I asked.
"None. They're still trying to put together all of what transpired. General Granger refuses to believe that Nod is gone for good, but Boyle has gotten too full of himself, convinced that Kane's reign of terror is no more. As for what to do right now-"
Suddenly, we heard sirens all across the TIA base.
"This is an emergency announcement from Judge Enikk. Alien invasion has been sighted outside the planet's atmosphere. All Nikkes are advised to report to the engineering facility for a model system upgrade. TIA will be under strict lock-down, until all Nikke upgrades are complete!"
"What? A system upgrade?" Neon asked.
"Did she say alien invasion?" Rapi added.
Malcolm switched on the screen to see Granger and Shifty. "General? What's going on?"
