"O'Malley" Ben smiled passing by him in the hallway

"Dr. Warren" George was surprised but at the same time not all that surprised to see him

"I received a very exciting phone call about a certain new Pediatric Surgery Fellow" He smiled "It's my day off and we brought muffins"

"I was on my way to talk to her and maybe sweeten the deal with the muffins and the cute baby" George smiled

"What did you do O'Malley"

"I joined the army"

"Oh yeah dude she's going to flame you" Ben laughed

"I mean when you realize your place in life you should pursue it right. I mean she had a feeling about peds and now look"

"Here's a tip. Don't compare her taking a fellowship in a hospital she already works at to you joining the military" He shook his head "But I'm proud you found your calling Dr. O'Malley"

"Thank you" George smiled "If I may"

"If this is about me loving her. Then no you may not. It's bad enough you're about to tell her about the army. You want to dwell in her personal life too"

"I leave here tomorrow anyway" He shrugged "It's no secret that you care about Dr. Bailey deeply. And from what I've seen, she cares about you too. But I think it's time you confessed your feelings for her. You'll never know unless you try. Dr. Bailey deserves to know how you feel, and you deserve to find out if there's a chance for something more between you. Don't let fear hold you back from the possibility of happiness. Life's too short to keep your feelings hidden, especially when it comes to matters of the heart."

"You're leaving tomorrow for the army. That's a daunting task and confessing my feelings does not compare. So I will say this. I don't want to spring anything on her while she's about to embark on this fellowship. I will tell her when the time is right"

"Dr. Warren sometimes life passes you by if you wait for the right time. Maybe there isn't one. Maybe you have to make it the right time. Like me right now about to tell her about the army"
They both approached Miranda. She was surprised to see them together.

"O'Malley. Ben. Delilah" She greeted them

"Danny and I wanted to congratulate you on Peds life. Dark blue will look good on you and peds is a good fit" He smiled  "Muffin"

"Thank you Danny and Ben" She laughed taking a muffin "Are you here to congratulate me too" She looked at George

"Actually, Dr. Bailey, I need to tell you something."

"Oh, O'Malley. I'm eating a celebratory muffin"

"I know. It'll be quick 'cause I gotta get to the OR to scrub in with the chief. Now I think you're gonna be mad at first, But I'm about to do something important, And I'm very sure about this decision, And I think eventually, you're gonna be proud. But, you know, before that, You're probably gonna be like what did you do?" He imitated her voice poorly.
She gave him a look and so did Ben.

"I'm ... I don't mean to imitate you" He cleared his throat

Ben had to fight back his laughter. But then he figured he shouldn't laugh too much. O'Malley was braver than him right now. He was scared of what Miranda might say and here he was staring his fear in the face. Ben wondered if he should take advice from O'Malley after all.

"You call that quick?" She looked at him

"I joined the army to be a trauma surgeon. I report for duty tomorrow." He blurted out. Both he and Ben braces themselves for her reaction.
