𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃𝐋𝐘
𝐈𝐋𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐀𝐐 𝐀𝐋𝐖𝐀𝐘𝐒 felt a kinship with the sea, as if the rolling waves and endless tides were a part of him, he had a a heart that knew no dread before the ocean's vastness.
As he fell from the balcony was the moon- his beloved sister- was casting her silvery light across the heavens, a beacon in the velvety shroud of night. Time seemed to dilate, stretching infinitely as Iluliaq descended toward the icy embrace of the northern seas, following in his sister's path to the world beyond.
Upon impact, the sea's biting caress engulfed him, its glacial fingers clawing at his flesh with unyielding cold. The ocean's piercing chill penetrated his core, robbing him of warmth, silencing his breath, dampening the senses that once tethered him to life.
Darkness began to claim him, his sister's tender luminescence fading to a faint glimmer as he was drawn down, down into the frostbitten depths. He was shrouded in liquid ice, the sea's relentless grasp sapping his heat with each tick of time. His lungs screamed for air, yet the merciless water offered no solace.
In the throes of this frigid descent, as his eyes grew dim and his body succumbed to the weight of the deep, a surreal tranquility washed over Iluliaq. The world above now seemed like a distant dream, while the silent, cold abyss below called to him with a haunting allure. There, in the depths of the sea's heart, Iluliaq discovered a profound stillness- a final sanctuary amidst the ocean's unyielding embrace.
As he gave out consciousness slowly crept back into Iluliaq, his senses unfurling to reveal a realm beyond the grasp of mortal words. Before him stood La, the ocean spirit, her form both magnificent and terrifying.
Blinking in disbelief, Iluliaq mustered a voice that seemed to echo strangely in this place. "La? Where am I? Where is Yue? I must see her!"
La's eyes carried the weight of the ocean's depths as she spoke. "You are in the world between worlds, the nexus of existence where all worlds converge.. A place beyond the tides of life and death. As for Yue, she is beyond your reach."
Iluliaq's heart clenched tight, a coldness seeping in that had nothing to do with the waters that had claimed him. "I don't understand... Why can't I be with her?"
La reached out, her touch ethereal yet comforting against his face with a mother's tenderness. "My child, this is not the end of your journey. You are meant for more than the embrace of the cold sea. Your destiny has only just begun."
Iluliaq's brows furrowed, a mix of confusion and frustration in his voice. "Then what am I to do? If my time has not come, why have you brought me here?"
Her gaze was a lighthouse in a storm, unwavering and illuminating the path ahead. "The world you know is but a single droplet in an endless ocean of existence. There is a place where you are needed- a world crying out for a hero. It is there you must go, it is there you will find your true purpose."
"I'm not a hero." Iluliaq retorted. "I'm a warrior. I was meant to rule the north, not save distant lands."
La's sigh was like the ebb and flow of the tide, a gentle yet persistent force. "Become a hero, Iluliaq, and you can reunite with your sister once more. Your love for her was strong in life; let it guide you in this new quest."
Iluliaq stared at La, his resolve hardening like ice. The world that needed him held no allure- his life had been for himself and Yue alone. Though the promise of seeing his sister again ignited something within him- a spark of purpose that could set ablaze a hero's path.
"I will do it." He finally declared, the words cutting through his reluctance. "Not for this unknown world, but for myself and Yue. I will rise to the challenge. To become what I must to see her again."
