"𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋!" Hawks hissed, his patience thinning as he tried to perfect the eyeliner on Iluliaq. The young hero sat sprawled in the makeup chair, his icy blue eyes half-lidded with disinterest. The Hero Commission had scheduled an interview in an hour, and Hawks was determined to present their newest rising star in the best light. However, Iluliaq's apathy was making the task nearly impossible.
Iluliaq's icy blue eyes narrowed, his expression a cocktail of boredom and reluctant resignation. "This is ridiculous." He muttered, crossing his arms over his chest.
Hawks rolled his eyes, giving a dramatic sigh as he tried once again to line Iluliaq's eyes. "You know, most people would kill to have me do their makeup. How about showing a little gratitude?"
"I don't see why this is necessary." Iluliaq muttered, his voice as frosty as his expression.
Hawks sighed, his patience wearing thin but his determination unwavering. "Because, you have an image to uphold. The Hero Commission wants you to look the part of Prince Charming, remember?"
Iluliaq rolled his eyes, a rare display of emotion that spoke volumes of his disdain. "I didn't sign up to be some poster boy. I signed up to be a hero."
"Yeah, well, sometimes being a hero means playing the part." Hawks straightened, placing his hands on his hips. "And right now, that means eyeliner. So, unless you want me to poke your eye out..."
"Fine." Iluliaq said with a resigned sigh, though his body language screamed rebellion. He shifted slightly, just enough to make Hawks' task marginally easier.
Hawks leaned in again, carefully drawing the pencil along Iluliaq's eyelid. "You know, you could make this easier on both of us if you just cooperated."
"I could be sleeping right now." Iluliaq grumbled, his voice barely above a whisper.
Hawks chuckled, his tone taking on a teasing edge. "You always want to sleep. I swear, if there was a hero name for sleeping, you'd be it."
"Leviathan suits me just fine." Iluliaq replied, his voice losing some of its edge. "It's fitting."
Hawks paused, pulling back to appraise his work. "Well, Frostbite, you're going to look amazing for this interview. Just imagine all the fans you'll gain."
Iluliaq shrugged, the movement barely noticeable. "Fans are overrated."
Hawks' eyes softened. He knew Iluliaq wasn't fond of the spotlight, unlike himself. "Look, I know this isn't your thing. But sometimes, a little charm goes a long way. You never know who you might inspire."
"I don't want to inspire anyone." Iluliaq said flatly, but there was a hint of something else in his eyes, something Hawks couldn't quite place.
Hawks decided to change tactics. "How about this? If you get through this interview without a hitch, Korean BBQ on me. And... I'll throw in some extra cash. Deal?"
Iluliaq's eyes flickered with interest for the first time. "Korean BBQ?"
"Yep, all you can eat. And I'll even let you pick the place."
Iluliaq considered for a moment before nodding slowly. "Fine. But only because I'm hungry."
"Great!" Hawks beamed, stepping back to admire his handiwork. "You look fantastic. Now, let's get you suited up."
As Iluliaq stood, stretching his arms with a yawn, Hawks clapped a hand on his shoulder. "You know, you're like a brother to me, Frostbite. I just want what's best for you."
