𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐘
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐑𝐎𝐎𝐌 of the Hero Public Safety Commission was a fortress of ice and tension. Frost crept like delicate lace across the windows, a stark contrast to the heated animosity within. The air itself seemed to carry a chill, as if reflecting the presence of the young man standing silently, exuding an aura of cold detachment.
Hawks could feel the tension crackling in the air, as palpable as the frost on the glass. Iluliaq stood still, his cold oceanic blue eyes locked in a frigid stare with Madam President. The room held its breath, waiting for the storm to break.
"Leviathan." Madam President's voice was a cold steel blade. "Explain yourself. Why did you skip the Sports Festival?"
Iluliaq's lips curled into a sardonic smile. "A media circus is what it is." He replied, his voice smooth and formal, yet dripping with disdain. "I am not a show pony to be paraded for the amusement of the masses."
Hawks shifted uncomfortably. He knew his protégé's hatred for the public eye, but this outright defiance was unprecedented. "Leviathan, the Commission had plans—"
"Plans to use me." Iluliaq cut in, his calm demeanor unshaken. "To control the public through their adoration of a fabricated hero."
Madam President's gaze hardened. "You are an asset to the Commission, Leviathan. You will do as you are told."
At that moment, the frost on the windows thickened, and an eerie silence fell over the room. Iluliaq's eyes glinted with a dangerous light.
"An asset, you say?" His voice was a mere whisper, yet it echoed in the tense stillness.
Without warning, the temperature plummeted, crimson tendrils of ice began to form, snaking their way through the air. The members of the Commission gasped as they felt their own blood betraying them, freezing within their veins. Hawks watched in horror, unable to move as he felt the cold touch of Iluliaq's power.
With a flick of his wrist, Iluliaq manipulated the blood in their bodies, and one by one, they crumpled to the ground, lifeless. The only ones left standing were Madam President and Hawks, their eyes wide with shock and fear.
Iluliaq stepped forward, his movements graceful and deliberate. "If I am to remain with the Commission—" He said, his voice now a deadly calm. "—I demand actual missions. I will not be your puppet, paraded for the sake of public adoration."
Madam President trembled but held her ground. "You think you can dictate terms, Leviathan?"
A chilling smile played on Iluliaq's lips. "I believe I just did." His eyes locked onto hers, the ice in them reflecting a ruthless determination. "Remember, Madam President, I am not bound by your notions of control. I am beyond your reach."
Hawks finally found his voice, though it was shaky. "This isn't the way—"
Iluliaq turned his gaze to Hawks, and for a moment, there was a flicker of something almost human in his eyes. "Hawks, you, of all people, should understand. I am not a hero for the spotlight. I am a force to be reckoned with, not a pawn in their games."
Madam President's face was pale, her voice barely a whisper. "Very well, Leviathan. You will have your missions. But know this—you may be powerful, but you are not invincible."
Iluliaq's laugh was a cold, mirthless sound. "Invincibility is an illusion, Madam President. But fear... fear is very real." He turned on his heel, his long white hair cascading like a waterfall of snow behind him. "And it seems I have instilled plenty of that today."
