Annalise pov

Emma and I were in the station with David and I hand him a mug of tea. We needed answers about where Kathryn was

"Thank you." David said "I hope Kathryn's somewhere warm, not out in the cold."

"David." I said "I think you need to start worrying about yourself a little bit more here." "Your wife is missing." "You are in love with another woman." "There's this... Unexplained phone call."

 "I know, I know." David said "I just... I can't explain why it says that." "I didn't do anything to my wife."

"I'm pretty good at spotting a liar." Emma said "And, honestly, liars have better material." "Now, go home."

"I can go?" David asked

 "We don't even know if there was a crime yet." I said "So, get some sleep."

 "Thank you." David said and he stands up to leave

"And, David?" Emma asked causing him to look at her "Maybe... Get a lawyer."  Emma and I leave the station and start walking.

"This has just gotten so messy" I said

"I know" Emma said 

"You know if my family was here I think they'd scare David pretty good" I said and Emma chuckles

"Are they that intense?" Emma asked

"They can be" I said with a grin "But they're good people, maybe I'll have you meet them some day they'd like you"

"Sure" Emma said "Do you ever think about our birth parents?"

"Sometimes" I said "My mom and dad told me I was adopted when I was thirteen" "For awhile I wondered why our parent's didnt want me..I guess now us in this case" "I wondered if I was a mistake...but I got lucky with who I ended up with"

"At least one of us did" Emma said

"I'm sorry Emma" I said

"It's not your fault Annalise we were babies we had no control" Emma said 

"I know but now that we have each other I just wonder what it would've been like had we grown up together" I said

"I wonder that too" Emma said. We continue walking when Mary Margaret runs up to us.

"Is he okay?" Mary Margaret asked "David?"

"Oh, yeah." I said "He's a little shaken up, but he's headed home." "He's fine."

"Any word from Kathryn?" Mary Margaret asked

"Nothing new." Emma said

"Did you check with Boston again?" Mary Margaret asked

"She's not there, Mary Margaret." I said

 "So, we have no idea what happened to her?" 

 "All we know, is that she found out about you two, gave you a well-deserved slap, and then disappeared." Emma said

 "Well-deserved?" Mary Margaret asked "Do you really believe that?"

 "No." Emma said "I'm just preparing you for what everyone else is going to think." "You two are going to look bad until we figure the truth out."

 "You mean David?" Mary Margaret asked "Th-That people are going to think in order to... Be free with me..."

"Some are." I said "And, he's not doing himself any favors." "So, if there's anything you could think of to pin down his whereabouts that night-"
