Emma and I sat in Granny's diner eating breakfast when Mary Margaret walked in. Everyone gave her a look because the whole town knows about Mary Margaret and David's affair. It broke my heart seeing Mary Margaret like this.
"Excuse me." Mary Margaret said "Can I have everyone's attention, please?" "I'm sorry to interrupt your morning but I just wanted to remind everyone that a very special occasion is upon us." "Miner's Day." "As always the nuns of Storybrooke are hoping that everyone will get involved and will help sell their exquisite candles." "All we need are a few energetic volunteers." "So who wants to join me?" Nobody is interested an starts eating and talking again. Leroy walks up to Mary Margaret "Leroy, you wanna volunteer?"
"I wanna leave, sister." Leroy said "You're blocking the door."
"Of course." Mary Margaret said "Uh...You know, if you wanted to help it could really be a--"
"Oh yeah, right." Leroy said "Quite a team we'd make." "Town harlot, town drunk." "The only person in this town people like less than me is you." "If You're coming to me, you're screwed." He leaves. Mary Margaret has a disappointed look on her face and walks out the door. Emma and I follow after her.
"Hey." I said "Mind if we join you?" "So, what the hell is Miner's Day and why are you beating yourself up over it?"
"It's an annual holiday celebrating an old tradition." Mary Margaret said "The nuns used to make candles and trade them with the miners for coal."
"Coal?" Emma asked "In Maine?" "If they were mining lobster I'd understand."
"Look, I don't know." Mary Margaret said "Now they use it as a fundraiser." "It's an amazing party. Everyone loves it."
"It doesn't seem like everyone loves it." I said
"It's not miners day- it's me.' Mary Margaret said "Last week I had 10 volunteers." "This week they all dropped out."
"{You think this is about what happened with David?" I asked
"Oh, I know it is." Mary Margaret said "A few of them told me as much." "I've never...been a homewrecker before."
"It's gonna roll over." Emma said "You made a mistake with David." "It happens." "You don't have to do charity to win people's hearts back."
"I have to do something." Mary Margaret said "And this is the best I can do." "I've ruined my life." Emma's phone rings
"Oh." Emma said "Sheriff Swan." "Yeah, we'll be right down" Emma hangs up "Well, apparently duty calls."
"Hang in there." I said "And if there's anything we can do to help, we will."
"Oh." Mary Margaret said "Thank you." Emma and I get in the car and drive to a car crash sigh and begin taking pictures of it
"Mind if I take a look, too?" I look up and see Sidney Glass. I hold back the urge to roll my eyes and continue taking pictures
