Athena watches as Bella looking at Edward with an intensity on her face and he stops walking as their eyes meet. She watches as Bella goes toward the wooded area. Rosalie grabs Edward's arm before he can follow.
"Edward, don't go," Rosalie says. She doesn't want to see Athena's heart broken even more and Edward can see that in her head.
Alice gently removes Rosalie's hand. "He's already there," she says.
Edward glances at Athena, who looks like she wants to cry again. "I'm sorry," he says to her before he goes to follow Bella.
Athena exhales shakily and she heads inside. She leans against her locked and she closes her green eyes and she forces herself not to cry right then and there. She feels someone touch her shoulder and she knows it's Emmett. She lets him tug her into a hug as Rosalie joins them.
"It'll be okay, babe," Rosalie assures her. "Alice said she saw a very blurred vision about your mate. A girl."
"Good for her," Athena replies as she pulls away from Emmett. "Thanks for the hug, Emmett, I needed that."
"I know you did," Emmett replies.

Over the next few days, Athena cries some more at home in her room, Rosalie and Jasper by her side while Edward explains vampires to Bella. He's also telling her about his relationship with Athena and telling her to be patient with her whenever they meet. Bella feels bad for coming in between them and Edward really adores that about the human.
"Hey, guys..," Edward says to his family one morning. "I'm bringing Bella over this weekend. We're together officially."
Athena tenses up and she walks away without a word. She slams her door and Edward winces.
"Way to go," Rosalie sneers. "Rub it in, why don't you?" She goes to comfort Athena and Jasper follows.
Alice's heart breaks for her sister. "Her mate's out there," she says to Edward, "I just don't know where she is or when they meet."
"My love for her, as I've told her, won't ever fade," Edward says. "It's just a different kind of love now."
Alice gives Edward's hand a comforting squeeze as they listen to Rosalie try to soothe Athena verbally and they're sure Jasper is using touch.
