Athena is looking at all of the wedding guests when she suddenly catches a familiar woodsy scent. She turns right as Leah approaches her.
"I'm looking for my date," Leah says. "Pale, black hair, green eyes, most beautiful girl I've ever seen..."
Athena smiles and Leah watches a blush rise on her cheeks. "Hmm... Have you found her?"
"Maybe I have," Leah replies. "Can I hug you?"
"I hope you do."
Leah steps forward in her simple light purple dress and she hugs Athena. The vampire melts into her arms and she hugs her back. Edward, who is standing at the arch, smiles at the way his ex melts. He's glad that she's finally found her mate so she won't be sad and alone forever.
"You look beautiful," Athena says as they pull apart.
"Please." Leah rolls her eyes. "I look like a cheap girl compared to you, Athena. You look like a Goddess."
"Don't be so harsh in yourself," Athena says as Billy is wheeled over by an older woman. "Mr. Black! You clean up well."
Billy smiles. "Hi there, Athena," he greets.
"Any word from Jacob?" the vampire asks. She knows that Jacob ran off as soon as he got Bella's wedding invite - Leah texted her.
"Nothing," Billy replies sadly.
"Mom, this is Athena Cullen, my imprint," Leah says. "Athena, this is Sue Clearwater, my mother."
"H-"
"Athena!" Seth comes running over.
"Hey!" Athena greets. "Good job with Riley on that hill. You protected Bella. You did good."
Leah watches as Seth blushes at the compliment and bows his head. She smiles. "And you've done made his entire day," she says.
"It's about to start!" Alice chirps as she skips over.
Athena grabs Leah's hand and pulls her along. They sit behind the Cullens. To keep herself calm because of the other vampires in attendance, Leah keeps a grip ok Athena's hand. She feels herself relax when Athena laces their fingers together.
Everyone stands as the back doors open and Bella steps out with Charlie. Bella looks absolutely stunning in the dress that Alice had made for her in Paris as soon as she got a vision about Edward's proposal and Bella's answer. Her heels, too, were custom made in France.
They sit down and soon, the vows are being said and when they kiss, Athena reaches up and she wipes a tear away and Leah chuckles lightly at her. *******
Leah and Athena are joking around and flirting while they eat some cake at the reception before the toasts are made. Sue walks over and she greets Athena with a warm smile.
"Billy's getting drunk," Sue says.
"I sometimes wish I could," Leah claims with a sigh.
Athena pulls her back against her front and Leah relaxes some. Sue smiles and she leaves them, knowing that Leah's in good hands. Leah relaxes against Athena and she smiles as Athena nuzzles her nose into her neck and inhales.
"You smell like the woods, and cinnamon apples," Athena murmurs as Leah closes her eyes. "So pleasing. Relaxing." ******
Athena is sat with Billy, Sue, Leah, and Seth during the speech part of the reception. Leah and Athena are leaning into each other's arms as Emmett takes the stage.
"Excuse me, is this thing on? Hello?" Emmett cringes (and so does everyone) when he gets some feedback from the microphone. "Um, I'd like to propose a toast to my new sister. Bella, I hope you've gotten enough sleep these last eighteen years, Krause you won't be getting ore for a while."
Emmett laughs only to get awkward looks. The next one up is Jessica.
"Well, Bella was just like everybody else, totally mesmerized by Edward. Or, 'the Hair', like I told him. And then Edward was suddenly all about Bella."
Athena relaxes, relieved that Jessica didn't bring her relationship with Edward up. Leah caresses the bare skin of Athena's arm when she feels the change.
Charlie's up next. "Edward will be a good husband," he says. "I know this because I'm a cop. I know things. Like how to hunt somebody down to the ends of the Earth. And how to use a gun."
Alice speech is telling her that Bella will have to get over to her aversion to fashion. Skirts, heels, handbags. Renée, Bella's mom, sung a lullaby to her. Esme's was thanking Charlie and Renée for bringing Bella into the world and into their lives and she swears to cherish and protect her forever. Edward's is to Bella and he tells her just how much he loves her.
After the toasts, Athena and Leah go inside to get some alone time. They're on the balcony above the front yard when Leah steps closer and she pulls Athena close to her. Their breath both hitch at how close they are before their lips comment. Leah backs Athena up against the balcony as the kiss becomes heated quickly and they're soon on Athena's bed and they make-out until they hear a commotion out front.
Athena grabs Leah and she jumps them down. She yanks Jacob away from Bella when he grabs her arm harshly and Leah steps between her and him when he challenges Athena and she growls warningly.
"I'll text you," Leah promises since Sam says it's time to go.
"Okay." Athena gives Leah a kiss and the shifter swoons. "You better go before your alpha gets impatient."
Sam smiles. "Hi, Athena, good to see you, too," he says. "I'm sorry for the drama."
"It's not your fault," Athena replies.
Leah and Athena share a look before they go their separate ways. Athena goes to Bella and she checks on her. ******
Athena goes to No Man's land after Bella and Edward leave for their honeymoon. She cuddles with Leah under the stares in the rare clear night and they lay there in silence.
