HM was a soft and beautiful girl of 22 years. She was very ambitious about becoming a doctor and had big dreams but was then married to a stranger by her maternal uncle and aunt as after her parents died they had her responsibility. She had a childhood friend Anu who was the only person she trusted and now missed him badly.

HM was in her room when AS came
AS: Kya hua guddi (sitting beside her)
HM: Anu woh mujhse Mami ki dress jal gayi (frightened)
AS too got afraid as he knew her Mami will beat her if she gets to know about it.
AS: dekho Guddi tum apni maami se mat kehna ki dress tumse jali hai.
HM: lekin tum hi toh kehte ho ki jhoot bolne se naak lambi ho jati hai.
AS: haan lekin ab main hi keh raha hoon ki unhen mat bolna hmm.
Just then they heard mami shouting, HM clutches his hand tightly.
They came out of the room. Mami looked at HM with anger making her scared.
Mami: ae ladki maine tujhe diye the kapde istri karne ko toh ye tune kiya na
AS: nahi aunty woh ye toh mere saath khelne aayi thi isne nahi kiya.
Mami: jhoot mat bolo Anu apni iss dost ko bachane ke liye, khoob janti hoon isse.
HM: haan Mami maine hi jalayi thi aapki dress woh mera dhyan nahi tha.
Mami: accha beta (slaps her hard) bahut Masti badh gayi hai teri.
HM started crying loudly. AS hugs her tightly and takes her to the room.

AS was making her quiet. She was crying loudly making his heart pain.
AS: maine mana Kiya tha na ki mat batana aunty ji ko sach phir kyun bola.
HM: toh kya karti main bahut darr gayi thi isiliye bol diya (puppy face)
AS: accha ab chup ho jao. Jyada rougi na toh tumhara chehra kharab ho jayega.
HM wipes her tears and AS smile at his friend's innocent behaviour.
AS: Main tumse wada karta hu ki jab main padh likh ke bada aadmi banunga toh tumhen iss narq se le jaunga.
HM: sacchi (he nods) pinky promise (forwarding his little finger)
AS: haan pinky promise (mingling his finger with her)
HM: tum bahut acche ho Anu (hugging him tightly) mere saath hi rehna humesha.
He rubbed her back.
