Lucifer's POV

I awoke a few hours later, feeling much better than I had been, though not completely normal. I was still being held tightly in Y/N's arms with their head rested on mine. I remembered they had said their schedule for the day was clear, and I didn't want to spend the rest of it sleeping. But I didn't want to leave their warm embrace just yet, so I laid still for a while, remembering the events of the day and our time together before this as well.

Up to now, from the day we met, we've had lunch four times, talked about many wondrous things, they've preened my wings, I cried and had a panic attack in front of them, and then I fell asleep in their arms.

So yeah, a lot has happened and my pride is heartbreakingly shattered. I honestly don't know wether to be a complete embarrassed wreck, or to be relieved that someone has finally seen me for who I am. An actual person with deeper feelings and thoughts. Finally, I'm not bound by my incomprehensible reputation. I finally have someone I can be 'normal' with.

I'll likely be quite embarrassed by the crying for some time, but I am also incredibly relieved.

I shifted my weight a tiny bit, trying to snuggle even closer in their arms. I took a deep breath and let out an even deeper sigh. I had never felt so at ease before. Yes, the preening was nice, but being held was even nicer.

Reader POV

You felt Lucifer shifting around in your arms. You hadn't realized you'd fallen asleep with him. You gently ran your fingers through his soft gold locks of hair as you whispered a second, more peaceful, good morning to him. You enjoyed these sweet moments with him. You were glad to wake up to a peaceful napping buddy, rather than the devastated mess you had calmed down earlier in the day.

Of course, you didn't mind, nor did you think any less of him for crying in front of you. You were actually quite honored he felt comfortable enough to do so, wether he meant to or not. You wouldn't say you found crying, 'sexy' or anything, but a man who is comfortable enough in his masculinity to cry? Now that was something that appealed to you.

"Good morning Apples." You said to him softly, humming his new nickname happily.

"Uh, good morning to you as well. Again.." He moved his head slightly to look at you as he replied. He tilted his head a bit at the nickname.

"Apples? Why did you call me that?" He questioned you.

"Hmm.." You pulled his head closer to your face, taking a deep breath of his lovely scent. "You smell like a fresh apple pie is all. I miss apple pie." You sighed softly at the remembrance of your favorite sweet treat.

Truly, he didn't smell only of pie. That would be unrealistic. His smell was more specifically a mix between the sweetness of pie and a faint smell of sweat. You could also smell the hair products he used, and the barely noticeable smell of alcohol, though those smells were less apparent. He smelled good. To say the least.

"I-I do? No ones ever mentioned that before." He seemed a bit dumbfounded at your observation.

"I'll happily be the first." You smiled and rested your chin on his head with a soft thud.

You held your position for a few sweet moments, enjoying the quiet.

"You know, since I have the day off, we could bake a pie? If you'd like to taste the thing you smell like?" You thought it may be fun to try cooking with the king.

Even though you hadn't baked anything since the human world, you still thought it may be fun. You used to bake pies with your grandmother, before she died. She left you her favorite recipe book when she passed away. You knew the one for the pie by heart.

"That, could be really fun! I've never baked anything so complex before though. Only the odd cookie recipe here and there." Lucifer seemed to like the idea of baking with you.

"Do you think Charlie has stuff? Or should we just go to the store." You asked Lucifer softly.

"Hmm, maybe the store.." He doubted that the kitchen would be stocked.

"Ok, I know a good one that's not too far. I can go and meet you back here in an hour or so? Or we can go together if you'd like." You considered that he may have issues being in public.

He thought for a moment, conflicted. He didn't really want to deal with the hassle of going outside, but he was afraid of being left alone in the hotel room. He'd rather tough it out in public than be left alone with his own mind.

"I'll go." I spoke shortly. "I haven't been shopping in a while." He smiled gently.

"Good, just let me get dressed really quick and we can go." You shifted and stood up slowly, stretching out as you did so. He moved over as well, but stayed on the ground.

You looked around the room for a moment, suddenly remembering that it wasn't your room you had fallen asleep in, but his. You were still in yesterdays clothes and craving a shower. You sighed and smiled at him.

"I need to run to my room a few floors down and change, it shouldn't take too long. And then we can go." You said with another small sigh.

"Uh, you can borrow a shirt.. If it's easier than running all the way downstairs. If you'd rather?" He suggested quietly, looking up from where he had moved to, still on the floor.

"Wait that's so smart! Ok I will, thanks!" You smiled happily and stretched your back one last time before stepping over to his dresser.

It wasn't fully filled, since he doesn't live here full time. It only had a couple neatly folded t-shirts and a few pairs of shorts. Hung in his closet were his nicely tailored coats and slacks. You figured you were looking into his pajama drawer.

You grabbed a shirt, deciding to continue wearing your own pants. You went to his bathroom to change, closing the door behind you.

Lucifer's POV

When Y/N walked out of my bathroom wearing my second favorite pajama shirt I swear I nearly died. It fit them, weirdly, to say the least. It was too tight in some spots and way too loose in others. All I knew is that they were in my shirt. I felt my face blush intensely at the sight.

I stared for a moment as they jokingly model-walked and struck a pose. We laughed and left the room. I hoped they didn't notice me trying to hide my now reddening face.

It was rounding noon as we were walking out of the hotel. The rest of the group was in the parlor area, sitting quietly for once. I didn't really want to stop and talk to them, but Y/N insisted we say hi on our way out, and let them know where we were going.

They said their pleasantries and conversed for a moment or two. I was glad it didn't take too long, and that Charlie wasn't there. I still wasn't feeling my best. I was probably puffy from my heavy cry this morning. I was also a bit nervous to be going out in the first place.

Understandably, I was glad when Y/N returned to me quickly. We walked out the front double doors before they quickly linked their arm through mine.
