The following week, the three boys spent all their time trying to prank and jinx each other. It had started by Draco viciously cursing their letters, giving them a temporary but stinging burning feeling once they touched it, a spell he had learnt from Lucius. The twins wouldn't let that slide. Even though they weren't allowed inside Hogwarts, they figured their magic and magical creatures were. Fred (and George) sent Draco 101 love letters (most of which only containing the sentence "Do you want to be my boyfriend?" or some doodles of hearts and dicks surrounding the name 'Draco') using 6 separate owls, which had all been bought with the shop's money (thanks to their newfound fame). He had also jinxed some letters so they would give him kiss and leave red lipstick marks on his cheeks. When that had happened, in the Great Hall over breakfast, Draco had fallen off his chair and hurriedly tried to disintegrate every last bit of them with Reducto, to the Great Hall's entertainment. He was boiling with anxiety and rage.

Draco retaliated by sending them a thousand miniature spider eggs, ready to hatch with a simple spell. The twins, not knowing that these were eggs, naively used the spell and found their attic suddenly roaming with spiders, which ran downstairs to Ron's room, making him have a panic attack. The twins found this more funny than obnoxious, but when the spiders started nibbling on the kitchen food and causing a family scene, they had to annihilate all of them one by one which had taken 2 hours. Not only that, these spiders nibbled on human skin, leaving red marks on the whole family who looked like they had caught smallpox.

The twin's next mischief  involved Peeves, their long lost ghost friend. The shithead gave Draco hell, chasing him down corridors, throwing firecrackers at him, that he had to stomp on before they lit up his robes or nearby objects, stealing his books, meaning he got supplementary detention, and using all his pranks on him, ALL OF THEM. Making him slip down the stairs, hiding an ant hive in his mattress, making all his clothes shrink until they were embarrassingly cropped and tight... You can't imagine Draco's fury. Obviously, the twins hadn't meant for Peeves to be so ruthless, but he was Peeves.

Draco being Draco favoured revenge. He mailed them some charmed necklaces and bracelets, which when worn, choked and handcuffed its prey. The twins were left stuck for an hour before Lee came to the rescue. The same day, he also sent some pepper-spray-like smoke, which when released, blinded the receiver for a few hours. They had to call over a medic for a counterspell. Of course, Draco's taste for pranks was sour...

Eventually, this led to an ongoing written fight. Draco wouldn't have wanted to admit it, but it broke his heart. He was used to deceiving & disappointing others, between his father, mother, teachers, godfather, Voldemort, his mates, and every student in the school... but that kind of loneliness wasn't something he could handle at the moment. It made him want to... to hurt himself, to watch the blood leak under the running shower water.

Not only that but, he barely had any friends. Half of it was intentional- he didn't have the time or patience to deal with anyone but the twins. Half of it was that he felt like a mediocre and unpleasant failure, talking to others made him want to tear his brains out, the dark spinning thoughts.

That is until he finally met someone.
