First Year

Sirius played chess and did homework with Peter.
Sirius practiced copying writing and complex spells and did hairstyles with Remus.
With James, they play fought, they made a house with their duvets and blankets, they played harmless pranks on people, they spoke in elaborate fake and poncy voices, they cuddled in corners when James found Sirius crying because Regulus didn't write back, they ran through the halls just before curfew because they had nothing better to do, they often did Remus' homework because they boy never seemed to want to do any schoolwork, they went to visit him in the hospital wing when he was sick, they took locks of Severus' greasy hair and put it in peoples food at mealtimes, they went to the owlrey to post letters to their family (even if Sirius' never wrote back), they hid in suits of armour and jumped out at unsuspecting people, they did everything together.

So on the 6th of October at around 6am, when he had just sent yet another letter to Regulus, he found himself wanting to visit Remus alone rather than going up to see if James was awake so they could visit together.
Breakfast wasn't for another hour and a half so he instead went to the kitchens and asked the house-elves for some cookies and milk before going to see Remus.
They hadn't been alone much since the time they had hugged and most of that was to do with the intense heat Sirius felt when in close proximity with Remus. He quietly crept into the hospital wing, using a spell Remus that had taught him to make his footsteps silent. Near the end of all the empty beds, he saw Madam Pomfrey standing beside some closed curtains around a bed.

"Madam Po-".

"Sirius Black, just what do you think you're doing here?" Snapped the medi-witch, storming over.

"Came to see Lupin," said Sirius, giving her his signature grin. He attempted to peer round her but she swiftly stepped to the side, blocking his view of Remus' bed.

"Remus Lupin is sleeping, just as you should be, it's far too early," said Madam Pomfrey. She began to walk towards the bed and Sirius followed her.

"You're to sit quietly and tell me when he wakes up, understood?". Sirius nodded and her eyes softened.

"He does likes milk," she murmured, nodding at the glass of milk in his hands, before going back to her office. Sirius placed the milk and cookies on the nightstand and sat beside Remus, nudging him over slightly. Remus looked as beautiful as usual, besides the bags under his eyes that showed he was tired. The morning light shone on his face and Sirius smiled. Remus was always shining.

About 10 minutes later, Sirius was rudely woken up by somebody calling his name and he sat up quickly.

"Oh bugger," he rubbed his eyes, something mother hated because she said it made them hollow. "Did I fall asleep?".

"'S alright, I got a nice cuddle out of it anyway," came Remus' voice. He was dressed properly now in his uniform, and was tying his laces.

"What?!" Sirius exclaimed, standing and taking a cookie off the plate. The milk was all gone but there were a few cookies left.

"You started muttering stuff to yourself so i just... y'know..." his voice trailed off at the end as he caught sight of the way Sirius was glaring at him.

"I told you I don't like being cuddled," he grumbled, folding his arms. Remus stood, now slightly taller than Sirius in just under a month.

"Yeah well, it stopped you squirming," he said, easily. "And you didn't even wake up when Pomfrey came in,".

"Whatever,". Remus then looked around as though he was searching for someone.

"Who are you looking for? The rooms empty," said Sirius, coldly. Remus raised his eyebrows.
