I'm carpooling to Nora's cabin with Kristina and Ethan. Ethan told me earlier that Grayson had some stuff to get done so he'll be here later. The bath I took somewhat helped the knots in my back and neck but it's still a little stiff.

I can see fog with skeletons and grave stones in the yard as we park, the faint sound of laughter and music drift through the air as we get closer. Stepping inside, I was greeted by costumes, ghosts, witches, superheros and everything in between, each person vying for best dressed.

The living room was transformed into a haunted mansion, with cobwebs draped over furniture, fake spiders crawling along the walls and staircase, and jack o lanterns casting an eerie glow. The atmosphere was electric, charged with excitement and anticipation of the night festivities.

I make my way through the crowd, Kristina and Ethan following behind me as I make my way to the kitchen. The air is filled with chatter and laughter as old friends reconnect and new friendships are forged amidst revelry.

I grab some drinks from the fridge, beers for me and Kristina and a water for Ethan since he'll be our DD. I try to look for my twin through the fog and crowds of people dancing, but give up after a few minutes, knowing she's probably with Vinnie.

"What are you guys suppose to be anyway?" I ask Kristina, she is in a yellow onesie while Ethan is in a orange-ish red one. "Timon and Pumbaa." She says turning around to show me her tail. I raise my eyebrows while nodding my head, they look like ketchup and mustard.

I take my mask off and drink my twisted tea while I watch two girls stumbling over each other and laughing while trying to keep each other from falling. "Aven, is that you? Rad costume!" I turn around to see Brooklyn walking over to me.

"Thank you, what are you suppose to be?" I ask looking at his bare chest and booty shorts. "I'm a cowgirl... well buckle bunny, someone spilled on my shirt tho." He says before drinking out of his cup.

I chuckle at him, how did he come up with that? "I thought I saw you dirty dancing with Vinnie, isn't he dating Nora?" He asks scratching his forehead. "Yeah, we dressed up as the same thing." I say stepping aside so someone can get passed me.

He forms his mouth into an O as the dots connect. "Thats good, now I don't have to call you out." He lightly chuckles while looking down at me. "So, we never went on that date." He said attempting a smoldering gaze that came across more as squinting, with his eyebrows furrowed in concentration rather than seduction.

I try not to laugh as he flips his short hair to the side "Yeah, I've been busy lately." I say clasping my hands together. I don't know if I should tell him i'm taken or not, knowing he's going to want to know who it is.

"Too busy for the buckle bunny?" He asks trying to be funny. He attempts to casually lean on the counter but misjudges the distance and ends up bumping his hip into it with a thud.

I put my drink up to my mouth so he can't see the smile forming on my lips, whatever he's trying to do, he's failing miserably. "Wanna go to a movie next weekend?" He asks licking his bottom lip. "Uhm, we'll see." I say, I need to grow a pair and tell him no but he's trying so hard, I feel bad.

"Alright, i'll take it." He smiles at me before looking at the ground, his cheeks slightly tinged pink. I look pass him and find Nora talking to some witches. "Hey, I have to find someone, I'll talk to you later." I say lightly touching his arm before heading after her.

"Hey grim reaper." I say once I get close enough to Nora and the girls. She turns around, her scowl forming into a smile as she looks me up and down. "Well hello there, you look just as hot as I do." She giggles.

"Hey Aven, congrats on pulling Grayson." One of the witches slurs. I look at her confused "What do you mean?" I ask. "You know, how Grayson's your boyfriend... I didn't think he would date anymore with how Layla treated him but I guess I was wrong. I'm Lora and this is Daisy by the way" Witch two says.
