It was finally night. Charlie was finally ready to leave that place and go to the living world.
Charlie wanted to learn more, to see more, to... Live more. Hell, as much as she learned there, she felt she was stuck for a long time. She needed to pull the wheel of her life at least once and choose the direction she wanted to go. And this direction, for now, was Alastor. Just thinking about him, the girl already smiled big.
She looked at her half empty room and sighed. As much as she would miss it, she felt happiness taking over her chest.
She would get a job, she would learn more about humans, she would be able to take lessons from Lorraine on how to host a hotel and more important for her right now, she was loved by the human she was currently in love with. No abusive relationship or being treated like she was worthless.
With a deep breath, Charlie got her bags and stood up again, puffing her chest out. Razzle opened the door and Charlie peeked out. No one seemed to be in the corridors, which was a relief.
Charlie was basically walking on her tiptoes to make as little noise as she could. Razzle and Dazzle were bringing a few handbags and mimicking Charlie behind her to also avoid any unwanted noises. She was crossing the corridor when a light turned on and she, in instinct, pressed her back against the wall behind a large cabinet. Once again Razzle and Dazzle copied what she did.
"Still stressed with the whole situation, my love?" A familiar voice echoed in the corridors.
"Of course, I will always worry about her." Lucifer showed up in the middle of where the two halls intersect one another. He was wearing white pajamas with pink details, duck slippers and was holding a cup of tea.Lilith showed up behind him and held his shoulder and smiled at him. "You know she will do the right thing. She is like you." Lilith smiled gently at her husband.
Lucifer placed his hand over hers.
"That's why I am afraid of the whole 'living world situation'. You know what happened." Lucifer turned around to see his wife and kissed her hand.
"I know. But Charlie will give up on it. She is back now, she is... She is trying to figure out how to help sinners again." Lilith held and intertwined her fingers with Lucifer's.
"What a stupid idea." He chuckled, but it didn't look like he chuckled in an intention to mock his daughter's idea. It looked like... An emotional and sad chuckle. Charlie wasn't seeing her parents to know, it sounded just like mocking, and it hurt.
Charlie felt her eyes lowered and she was staring at the floor, still hiding. A pain started to grow inside her chest, how... could her father say something like that? How could he think it was a silly idea?
"Lu..." Lilith frowned as she saw the pain in her husband's eyes. She knew he didn't want to see Charlie get hurt like he had been. And deep inside he really didn't believe sinners could be redeemed, since, well, he lost faith in Hell since the beginning. But she knew he would never think their daughter's ideas were stupid. She knew he was just saying what they said to him, so many times.
"I know." He kissed her hand one more time, and then sighing, he walked towards their room leading the way for his wife.
Charlie was still pressed against the wall, with her hand against her lips, feeling shaky.
Razzle and Dazzle slowly put their handbags on the floor and hugged Charlie's legs. She slowly slid down until she sat over the floor. Her hand was wet thanks to the few tears that were rolling down over her face.
