It's been a week of cat and mouse game shadowing and spying the victims' husbands for more information but everything is just taking them back to square one.
"So first victim Jung Yu mi's husband was gay even before marriage and his parents forced into a life he didn't want. However, none of their friends or acquaintances ever mentioned about dreadful marriage, in fact they said they were more like best friends. I don't understand this." Jungkook scratched his head annoyed.
"Do you think they had some agreement? Like lavender marriage? May be she had someone else or he had someone else." Taehyung was lying on the floor hand above his head, thinking hard.
Although Jungkook love to admire that pose of the other, he often ends up getting distracted. "How are we supposed to figure out if he didn't corporate to talk to us?"
"May be you can flirt with him again." Taehyung wiggles his eyebrows sarcastically. "No way, I rather flirt with you than that old pervert." Jungkook scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"Oh, you would flirt with me?" Taehyung was surprised by the other's response. "Can you please stop being annoying? We are trying to solve a serial killer case for God sake." Jungkook got flustered so he yelled at the other.
"Alright. So the second victim Han Sohee's husband is mostly travelling and what he could gather from his acquaintance is that he is already seeing someone else from Tokyo. A 27 years old Japanese woman named Kasumi Hirose." Taehyung picked a paper from his side and raised up to read the details.
"Don't you think these victims's husband moved on so quickly? I mean I understand they have their needs, or seeks a companion when depressed but this is..." Jungkook sighed trailing off.
"I still can't forget my Jihye, no matter what happened between us, she was my everything." Taehyung zoned out as tears brimmed in his eyes. Jungkook felt a bit closer to the man in front of him after the club night, after they first. A sensual moment that he couldn't take off from his mind since then.
They never talked about it after that but Jungkook felt different, a connection, a feeling of sympathy for the other. "May I ask you something personal?" Jungkook's eyes never left Taehyung's.
The elder just nodded. "How many years have you known each other, I mean with your wife?"
"We had been married for 2 years before she was...killed, but we dated for 3 years so in total 5 years of love." Taehyung's voice cracked in between.
"Will you please be honest with me for once?" Jungkook asked again softly.
"I have always been honest with you." Taehyung smiled.
"Did you ...did you really...kill your wife?" Jungkook asked hesitantly.
Taehyung averted his eyes and looked away. Tears already flowing down his cheeks. "I did not. I was falsely accused and charged."
"Do you mind narrating that day? I mean, I'm an outsider...and I'm good at analysing the situation." Jungkook tried to convince.
Taehyung looked at Jungkook with a dilemma to open up or not. Nobody from the department, even his best friend Jimin believed him a year ago, then why would this new guy, who doesn't even know how Taehyung was before, would understand him now?
'What's there to lose?' He thought. 'Just some time and a walk down through the memory lane perhaps.' Taehyung sat up and sighed deeply.
"I had a fight with her on the day before the incident. She has changed....changed a lot then. She used to be calm and straightforward, she used to tell me just anything and everything. But few months before that, since I was working on this case, Jung Yu Mi's murder and was quite busy to notice how she was distancing herself from me." Taehyung paused for a moment as his heart feels heavy.
