Devastated by the revelations about Jihye's dreams and his inability to make it happen, failing to protect her or be there for her crushed Taehyung's heart and soul to the hell pit. In the prison he blamed himself, but he didn't feel the depth of it as the weight of she cheating on him balanced his guilt.
"Jungkook-ah, can you take me somewhere before your place?" Taehyung broke the silence in the car. Jungkook hummed and nodded a yes.
They reached where Taehyung wanted to go. Standing in front of the building with a heavy heart, he took a deep breath as he stepped in. With rows of urns in glass cabinets filled with silent prayers and tears, flowers and photos in few, lighted candles flickering, the columbarium is beautiful but is the last place anyone wants to visit.
After a quick search, he found just the one he wanted. His breath hitched when he saw her face with a smile that touched her eyes, bright and charming.
A photo of his late wife Jihye placed inside the glass cabinet beside a blue marble urn. A tear escaped Taehyung's eye instantly. He raised his right hand to touch the glass, only thing that's left in between.
"Baby, it's been more than a year. I miss you, I really really miss you Jihye. I feel terrible for not being a good husband. Had I know what's going on your mind, I would've supported all your decisions. You could've have told me the reason, and I wouldn't have been so infuriated by seeing you and Jongsuk kissing." He lowers his gazes with a sad chuckle.
He turned around and leaned against the wooden
wall beside, sliding down to the floor."You know I had to ask him, the very person I despised past one year, about your whereabouts. Our both parents disowned me, didn't even allow me to attend your funeral. I was devastated when I came to know about the baby inside you, even though it was not mine. I want to know what you went through that moment. The killer, I promise to find them and bring justice to you." More tears gushed out from his eyes as he squeezed shut.
"Jongsuk is a nice man. He loved you truly as well. If we never met, you would have been married to him and live a happy life with your babies as well. Maybe you would have thought the same when we came to know about my condition." He wiped the tears with back of his hands.
"Did you regret marrying me baby? Did you wish if we never met at that coffee shop? I would never blame you if you did. You didn't deserve this pathetic life with me." He looks at his open palm resting on his lap.
"To be honest, when I heard you were sleeping with him on our second anniversary, it's shattered me completely. You even answered my call when you..." Taehyung bite back his snobs. "I don't know how you could move on so fast. I do understand your reasons and desperation, but still we were married then."
Taehyung stayed there for some more time, grieving, apologising, and complaining. He stood up from the cold floor, with almost numb ass, and legs. Bid a goodbye he leaves the columbarium only to find Jungkook still waiting for him by the parked car. He had no idea how long the younger had been standing there. 'Couldn't he just wait inside the car?' He wonders.
