7. A woeful misery

Jihye and Jong suk had known each other before she dated Taehyung. They were pretty good friends, at least that's what she thought. Jong suk always had his eyes only one her but she failed to realise. Jong suk didn't have any guts to confess his feelings, fearing he would lose their friendship. His heart crumbled when she introduced Taehyung to him, yet he believed it to be nothing serious. However, when Taehyung proposed her, Jong suk marked the end of his unrequited love. Jihye was so excited when Taehyung proposed. She loved him sincerely, dreamt a future, a family, an unconditional love.

When she shared the news to her best friend, Jong suk was devastated and ended up confessing his feelings for her, even though he knew it was too late.

Jihye was shattered, blamed herself for not understanding her friend's feelings. He requested her to keep their friendship intact and that's exactly what she did.

Jihye was so adamant to start a family with Taehyung soon after they got married. So four months later they started trying for it.

Every time when she gets her menstruation, she gets disappointed and cries without letting Taehyung know. They spent their first anniversary in Japan, as she booked a honeymoon suite, along with some sexy outfits and lingerie to seduce her husband.

Frustration peaked in her when it's been more than a year they had been trying to conceive. She consulted doctor, getting herself tested to seek the problem. She had to convince Taehyung and drag him to the hospital to get him tested as well and that's when they came to know he cannot father a child naturally.

They were offered various artificial insemination treatments for clinically developing a baby but she was against it. The desperation made her mentally distressed that led her to an irrational decision. She took weeks to convince her friend Jongsuk, taking advantage of his feelings towards her, threatening him by saying she would kill herself, and finally he ends up agreeing to her unconventional solution.

"Hey, let's go for drinks. It's been one crazy week" Yoongi suggested as they get off from work. "Oh yes I'm in. I definitely need some alcohol in my system now." Hoseok joins. "Me too, this kidnapping case was so stressful." Minho shows his stressed out face.

"Count me out." Taehyung spoke with a smile.

"Why Taehyung-ah?" Yoongi frowns at the younger.

"Ah, today is our second anniversary and I want to take her for a surprise date. Last year she surprised me with Japan trip and although I couldn't plan anything like that ahead, I should at least take her out and spend some quality time with her. Lately she seems a bit distant, probably work stress." Taehyung chuckles.

"Ooo, so you are ditching us for some banging tonight." Minho teased the younger, wrapping a hand on Taehyung's shoulder.

"Oh shut up Minho, you are so disgusting." Taehyung pushed the man away.

Taehyung reached home earlier than usual with a bouquet in hand. Surprisingly, Jihye was not home yet. He tried calling her few times but everything went straight to voicemail. He ditched the plan to go out and begin to cook dinner for them. With scented candles lit and slow jazz playing on the background, he cooked her favourite Japchae along with some pork belly and kimchi.

It's past 9 PM and still no sign of her. He called again and luckily she answered. "Honey, I'm so sorry I missed your call. Yuri eonni broke up with her boyfriend and she is al messed up now. I have to stay with her tonight. Where are you?"
