When I woke up from my nap I realized that I didn't just take a nap. I had fallen asleep. I checked my phone hoping to see a text from one of my parents and there was one. Only it was a message that I wasn't expecting to see.
Mom: Come home now.
I groaned and rolled my eyes as I sat up on the couch.
"You're finally awake," a male voice who I assumed could only belong to Adrian said from behind me.
I turned around to see him standing in the kitchen, making coffee. "Sadly I am," I responded, standing up from the couch.
"I thought you were dead with all the noise that I was making," Adrian went on to say.
Wouldn't be a bad thing.
I ignored him as I made my way to the front door, glad that he didn't say anything else so I could leave the house. I walked to my mom's car which she never drove and got in letting out another groan as I struggled to start it up but when there was a tap on my window I looked to see who was trying to talk to me.
"What do you want, Erica?" I asked after I rolled down my window.
"Are you going back home?" she asked, leaning against the door. I nodded. "I'm guessing you'll be throwing another party when your parents are gone."
"If they're gone," I said. "I'll text you when I get home."
"Drive safe," she finished then after she pushed off the door to make her way inside her house I rolled up my window.
Once I was able to start up the car I drove out of the driveway so I could get back to my own house. I was dreading the ride back home and thought about not going home for a while because I already knew they were going to say something to me. Something that I didn't want to hear. But after pulling up in front of the house I turned off the car, got out, and unlocked the front door to my house.
"Why didn't you come home last night?" my mom asked the second I closed the door.
"You didn't text me like you said you would," I responded like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Your mom and I have a meeting that we have to go to," my dad said, changing the subject.
"Don't throw a party while we're gone," my mom said and I couldn't help but let out a laugh.
"You know I will anyway right," I said, walking to the kitchen while my parents made their way to the front door.
"I told you he was going to decide against it," my dad said, opening the front door.
"You couldn't go a day without drugs, alcohol, and sex," my mom said with an eye roll.
"I can and I did it yesterday," I stated, doing my best to hide that I was already annoyed with them.
"Would be nice if you could do it every day," my mom said under her breath thinking that I couldn't hear her but I did.
I watched her reach into her purse to pull out her car keys to a different car then she handed them to my dad. Of course, I wasn't expecting them to say goodbye to me but it would've been nice to hear. They both stepped out of the house and once the door closed I was left staring at it.
"Be careful."

I didn't waste any time texting Erica that my parents were gone which was an invitation for her to text everyone that she knew to come over. Then after a few hours, my living room was once again full of people that I went to university with. Some were unfamiliar faces but I didn't let that bother me as I tossed my head back to finish the rest of the alcohol that was in my cup.
"Justin," I heard Oscar shout as he made his way to me. "Look what I got."
He held up a bag halfway full of white powder and I couldn't help but grin. I snatched the bag from his hand and then turned to face the counter with him right beside me.
"Shit dude took you long enough to get more," I said, opening the bag and then began pouring some out on the counter.
"I know. My brother was finally able to get it for me," Oscar stated while I lined it up.
He handed me a small straw so that I could inhale it and once I did I let out a sigh from the feeling that I hadn't felt in so long. I passed the straw to Oscar while I leaned against the counter waiting for him to take his hit.
"Ahh~ that feels good," he sighed, leaning his head back and I couldn't help but chuckle.
Oscar has been a good friend of mine since grade school. Our parents of course are closer than the Dellmon's because they knew each other on a deeper level. Even though Oscar's parents weren't as loaded as mine they treated each other equally. There came a point where I did everything with Oscar and this was one example.
I inhaled another line this time seeing stars right after. I've gotten used to the feeling even after not having this in my system for a couple of weeks I felt like a pro at it.
"So," Oscar spoke, leaning his weight on me just to stay on his feet. "Who are you banging tonight?"
I chuckled and shook my head. "Whoever comes up to me," I responded and we both laughed.
"Fuck I wish I could get someone in my bed as easy as you," he said then grabbed a random cup off the counter to drink whatever liquid was in it.
I didn't say anything because this was the part where I started to zone out everything. Watching the young adults dancing and grinding on each other while the music played was a sight to see. But then there was one person that caught my eye. Standing in the center of the crowd I was surprised that I saw him. He looked lost and it was almost adorable to see because anyone could tell that he didn't belong here. Then finally his eyes met mine and for the first time looking at someone it had to be him that made me feel something.
