A/N: Double chapter update.
What the hell is he talking about? I was trying really hard to remember what he was explaining to me but nothing was clicking. I've thrown countless parties and trying to remember what happened at every single one of them was something that I could do. And now it hit me. That night that I couldn't remember, he was there.
"You look lost," I said but my tone was loud just so he could hear me over the music.
"I shouldn't be here," Adrian said and I could tell that he was nervous.
"And yet you are."
When I looked into his eyes I saw the gloss from his tears staring at me and I couldn't help but feel bad. There was something that he was not telling me.
"Adrian," I started out slow. "What happened that night?"
He shook his head and then wiped the tear that managed to slip down his face. "I... I don't want to talk about it."
"I'm trying to remember and I need you to tell me," I demanded. "If it was something that someone said or did I-"
"It was you, Justin," he said and I felt my heart stop for a moment. "You're the someone that did something to me. Something that... that I wished you didn't."
"What did I do?" I asked softly.
"If you don't remember then I think it's best that you keep it that way." He shrugged. "You didn't care then and I know you won't care now."
"Can't you see that I'm trying?"
"Three weeks too late," he snapped. "I'm trying to forget that night. Maybe it's easier for you because you do it so much to the point you forget all their names."
What the hell is he talking about?
"Adrian-"
"Why can't you forget my name too?" he asked and I heard his voice shake.
"Is that what you want?" I asked and he nodded.
I knew there was no changing his mind with telling me about what happened that night so I stood up from his bed. I've never cared about anyone else's feelings this much before but seeing someone like Adrian this upset about whatever he was thinking about, broke me. If only he knew that maybe there could be a way that he would trust me.
When I got back to Erica's room I saw that she was sitting on her bed, scrolling through her phone and once the door closed she looked up, making eye contact with me.
"Where did you go?" she asked, setting her phone to the side.
"To explore," I said, rolling my eyes, then sat down at the foot of her bed.
"Did you find anything interesting?" she questioned but I didn't answer.
"What's up with your brother?" I decided to ask her.
"Who? Adrian?" she asked as if she had another brother that I didn't know about.
"No James," I said sarcastically. "Of course, I'm talking about Adrian, Erica. I went to talk to him and-"
"You went to talk to Adrian?" she asked, cutting me off and I nodded my head. "Just now?" she added and I nodded once again.
"He was asking me if I remembered anything that happened that night at that party which apparently you invited him to and I told him that I didn't. Then he started crying."
"Did he tell you what happened?" she asked and for the first time the expression she wore showed me that she was worried. But what was she worried about?
I shook my head as a response to her question. "He's trying to forget it but I'm trying to convince him to help me remember."
"Why do you want to remember?"
"Because he said that I did something to him."
