Mmmm, Zayn Malik.

Joey shifted from foot to foot nervously, clutching the piece of paper close to her chest. Her résumé was scant and completely useless, but she needed to get somewhere in life and this was the start. A man with a woollen hat pulled low on his head walked right past her to the entrance of the place she intended on working for. It was small and rustic and she’d drink coffee here multiple times. Casey was a trendy small café on the corner of a busy street lined side to side with apartment buildings in the trendier part of London.
“May I help you?” the man watched her hesitantly when she walked over, clutching her papers close to her chest. She pointed at the sign that read ‘Help Wanted’.
“I’m your wanted help.” She smiled at him and he chuckled throatily.
“Alright little lady. The shop opens every morning at half eight. You need to be here by eight. You’ll start working in the back, washing dishes and so on. You’ve got the look to be a waitress but you need to prove your metal first. In other words; you’re hired.”
Joey’s eyebrows rose. “Just like that?” She blubbered. He smiled.
“This is tough job sweetheart. We’re a good place for a first job, but why do you think this sign stays up? Because it’s a tough ass first job. Take it or leave it.” He pushed the door open, stepping into the place. Joey followed him, her lips parted slightly.
“O-okay.” She stepped in. “Do I start today?” He flicked the lights on, laughing.
“You start tomorrow. Monday till Saturday, 8 am to 5 pm.” Joey nodded frantically. She could still do everything she needed to.
“And…is there a set uniform-” He threw a bag at her and she just managed to catch it. “Try that one on for size. If it doesn’t fit we’ll change it tomorrow. Get going. Close the door behind you.” She glanced around at the cool café before turning and leaving. Joey felt a weird bubble pop in her stomach before she whooped carelessly, tossing her shitty résumé into the air and letting it rain on her before she bent over and scooped it up. She tossed the bag over her shoulders and grinned stupidly at passers-by who ignored her completely. She hummed under her breath. It was her first job! It probably paid well as well.
“Hey!” A woman yelped when Joey bumped her with her bag so that she split coffee on her shoes. “Sorry!” Joey yelped. She was normally rather co-ordinated, but today she was so happy she was bashing into everyone and everything. She went to apologise but the woman walked away haughtily. As she turned around she stumbled right into someone else who growled, steadying her by grabbing her arms.
“Watch where you’re- Joey?” Joey lifted her eyes to lovely hazel orbs. Zayn’s mouth spread into a smile. “Fancy seeing you here.”
She looked good, as always, dressed nicely. She wore a white long-sleeved shirt and a black cardigan with skinnies and Vans. Her hair was tousled and she wore no makeup, as far as Zayn could tell. And he’d worn makeup himself enough times to know if someone else was wearing any. She stepped out of his hands, blinking up at him stupidly. “Hi.” She said softly. He smiled and she smirked.
“Stalking me already Mr Malik?” Zayn’s smile slipped.
“No.” he said firmly. Her smirk spread into a full out lazy grin.
“I think you like me.” She said seductively. She was just teasing him, but he flushed nonetheless.
“No, I don’t.” he shrugged, stuffing his hands into his pockets. “I’m here because I’m hungry.” She smiled a little.
