Joey felt ridiculous. The clothes were too small in the hip and chest area, yet to large everywhere else.
“Jesus, is your mum a fucking model?” She’d demanded. The clothes had to be custom made, and they felt fucking weird! She’d never experienced this before. She had decent boobs…I mean, D is a good cup size, right? They were….comfortable in a person’s hand, not to heavy, slightly larger than the average woman’s, yet slightly smaller than too big.
And her hips? She wasn't THAT curvy! Her hips were there, yes, and you could see them, of course, but they weren’t so big! Today Joey felt uncomfortable in the too-big, too-small clothes. She sighed and glared at herself in the mirror.
She ignored Niall when he laughed at how ridiculous she looked, grabbing the jumper he had leant her and marched out of his door. She already knew how to get to the parking lot.
Once they had arrived to the City Hall, Joey was starting to get curious. Normally, the practises started at nine or ten, sometime eleven if they were lucky. They’d go on to different times, depending on how productive everyone was feeling…but today they were starting at a crisp half seven in the morning. Or at least, that’s what the clock in Niall’s just-as-fancy-as-Zayn’s-car read.
“Ugh, you celebrities and your cars.” Joey mumbled as she slammed his door. She could really use driving in an average Volkswagen Golf GTI or something a little less flashy. Niall rolled his eyes at her after he pulled off his glasses, which he didn’t really need seeing as it was raining.
The moment they stepped into the large concert hall, the first thing the noticed was the small group waiting for them, consisting of the rest of One Direction and Nigel, Helene and Caroline (and of course some other lesser important people.)
“You’re a bit late Niall, but come on over here.” Nigel grinned at the two of them, waving them down. They ran down the steps to meet them.
When they joined them, Helene started talking.
“We had a bit of a dilemma at a meeting the other day.” Helena said, sighing slightly. “We realized that what we needed was some lemon in all the chocolate that was our performance coming up on the twenty fourth.”
Helene was looking at everyone in the eyes. You could see how drained she was.
“We needed another act to spice things up, maybe even doing a completely different genre to haul in more people.” Helene smiled wanly at everyone.
“We’ve decided we want a new act.” She murmured.
“You all know that, except maybe you Joey.” She smiled at her.
“Why?” Joey asked, glancing around at everyone staring at her. Niall was the only one who looked mildly confused, but then again, he had zoned off when Ms Williamson had been talking on the phone…
“Because Joey,” Liam stepped out of the semi-circle, closer to her, arms folded and dead serious looking. “, You’re our new act.”
Silence.
“BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” Joey’s laughter boomed through the large concert hall and she threw her head back. “HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” She clutched her sides for emphasis. Liam looked at Louis who shrugged back at him.
Just as suddenly as she’d started laughing she had stopped, just as dead serious as Liam. “You need to work on your sarcasm Liam. I almost believed you.”
“He’s serious.” Louis piped up.
“We want you to sing.” Harry smiled at her.
“Zayn and I came up with the idea.” Louis looked at Zayn. Joey hadn’t even noticed him until now. He was staring at her blankly.
