Jackson

I glanced at my watch and as if she were on point, I noticed her walk inside. To say she looked stunning is an understatement. More like drop dead gorgeous.

"Hey."

"Hi. Thank you for coming."

"You're welcome. So, why did you ask for me to have dinner with you?"

"I wanted to get to know you."

She scowled. "Why is that? We don't know each other."

"Because you will be staying at my house."

"What?"

"All of the girls that I have hired live there as well, and I will not be treating you any different."

She leaned back in her seat and sighed. "Look... I appreciate it, Jackson. I'm just doing my job, but I don't think I can accept your offer."

"Why not?"

"I don't want my children around an environment like that."

"You have children?"

She nodded. "Yes, I have two."

"Oh, really?"

"Yes. My job has supported us comfortably."

"Boys or girls?"

"I have a boy and a girl."

"What are their names?"

"Maverick and Callie."

"How old are they?"

"Maverick is 8 and Callie is 7."

"Wow, they're young. Where's the dad?"

She looked away from me and at the moment, I knew that I had asked the wrong question. "Sorry."

She shook her head. "It's fine."

I placed my hand on hers and smiled. "You don't have to make the decision now, but I would like for you to stay with us. You will have your own separate suite. It will comfortably fit your children."

She nodded. "How much time are you going to give me?"

"Three weeks. After you make the decision, call me and let me know. Okay?"

"Yes. I'll think about it."

"Think about what you make now, Valentina. Whatever the pay is, I will double that within days, especially someone who is attractive as you are."

"You think so?"

"Very much so. That is actually an understatement to be honest."

A small smile formed on her face, and I noticed her slightly blush. "Thanks."

"I know what you do for men, and I would hate to see you get used."

"It's my way to make money for my family. Considering that their father is out of the picture, all of the bills are on me now."

"I understand, but I will not use you like that, Valentina."

After dinner, I followed her to her car. "Thank you for joining me tonight."

"Thank you for inviting me."

"Of course. I would be crazy not to."

"Do you do this for all of the girls?"

I shook my head. "Never."

"What makes me different?"

"I have a really good feeling about you, Valentina."

"And what would that be?"

"Just think about it, okay?"

She nodded. "Thanks again, Jackson."

Valentina

When I got home, I didn't really know what to think about Jackson. He seemed kind of into me, but finding a guy was not a requirement for me right now and I hardly knew the guy.

After the kids were in bed, I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. Assuming it was Danny, I ignored it until it vibrated again. "Who's this?"

"It's Tom."
