Valentina

I woke up the next morning, realizing that I was laying on the couch.

"Morning, sleepy head."

"Hey."

Ben smiled. "I already fed the kids."

"I'm sorry I fell asleep on you last night."

"Oh, it's fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. Besides, I was happy to be able to wake up and spend some time with our daughter, but I should get going. I'm sure you want me to leave."

"What?"

"I mean... I figured anyways."

"You don't have to leave. It's not like Danny is going to come home anytime soon."

"Well, I'll stay then. If that's alright."

"Sure."

Around 2:30, I heard the front door open. "Valentina, whose car is in the driveway?"

Ben exited the bedroom and went downstairs, greeting Danny.

Danny

"Who the fuck are you?"

"Callie's father."

"Ah, I am shocked that you stuck around."

"Why wouldn't I stick around?"

"Where is she?"

I noticed Valentina at the top of the stairs and scowled. "I'm right here. I thought you didn't want to come home."

"It's my house, Valentina. I can do what I want."

"Ben, can we have a moment?"

"I'll see you tomorrow."

I could hardly believe my eyes as I watched Ben kiss her before he left.

"What the hell was that?"

"Why should you care?

"You clearly still love Natalia."

"No, I don't."

"You acted like a real asshole, Danny. Did you know that?"

"I am sorry. I thought about my behavior, and it was wrong."

"It sure was."

"I just... I got angry and I shouldn't have."

"It's whatever."

"No, it's not."

I approached her and she stepped back. "Don't touch me."

"Valentina..."

She went upstairs and briefly came back downstairs holding Callie. "Where are you going?"

"I'm taking her to Ben's."

"You can't just walk out on me."

"What are you going to, hit me?"

"I would never."

"I want to believe that you won't see Natalia behind my back, but I just don't know if I can."

"Val, please... Natalia blew it out of proportion. I don't want her, I want you."

"How do I know that you are telling me the truth, Danny?"

"Val, please give me a chance. For our son."

I was never one to give second chances, but I had to keep my son in mind. "What makes you think that I'll trust you?"

"I don't expect you to trust me, but I can't have you leave."

Valentina  rolled her eyes. "Whatever, just don't make me regret this."

"You won't regret it, I promise."

"I am putting my feelings in jeopardy right now."

"I understand, but I want our family back and in terms of Ben he can be a part of your life as well."

"Of course he does, he has every right to see his daughter."

"That's fine."

The only thing I could hope for was Danny's loyalty and honesty. Later that night, I received a phone call from Micah and left Danny home with the kids. "Just be home within a reasonable time, okay?"

"Yeah."

"Have fun."

When I arrived at the club, I noticed Katy had her eyes glued on her phone, completely avoiding eye contact with me. "Hey, Katy."

She quickly shoved her phone in her pocket and smiled. "Hey, Valentina."

"Is everything okay?"

"Yes, why wouldn't I be, okay?"

"I was just asking."

"Well, I am getting another drink. Do you want another?"

"No thanks."

Nodding, Katy left Micah and I. "What's her problem?"

"I don't know."

"It seems like she's had that phone shoved up her ass whenever we've hung out."

Throughout the night, it didn't take long for me to feel tipsy after taking a few shots with Micah, but Danny told me to have fun, I certainly was having fun.
