"Wait, why's the mask in his locker?" I asked Daphne. "We don't know yet, but I am pretty sure he's not the one that grabbed the mask from the dead teacher." She answered. Daphne leant forward to grab the bowl of popcorn from the table.
"How would it manage to get into his locker then if he wasn't the culprit?" I asked, curious to know what Daphne's thoughts about this were. We both were currently watching a Turkish drama called Duy Beni, and we had just started the second episode.
"Maybe someone else put it in there? And no, Tatiana, I don't know how." She answered before she pressed the play button. I took the popcorn bowl from Daphne, ignoring the vibrations that emitted from my back pocket. It wasn't anything important. They probably were just notifications from Instagram.
"Ugh." Daphne sighed as she threw popcorn towards the screen. "Ekim is not even trying to hide her problems with those people."
I let out a snort. "It's a Turkish drama. What did you expect?" "Should we have started on a bollywood movie instead?"
I stared at Daphne in horror. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Bollywood movies, but the amount of dramatic effects they added to it just made it difficult for me to watch them. However, us having started a Turkish drama to watch was currently maybe not our best idea due to the common knowledge that the majority of the episodes range from 120 minutes to 140 minutes.
"You are joking, right?" "No, I am completely serious, Tatiana." Daphne laughed as she took back the bowl.
"Jokes aside, the subtitles kind of bother me a little." She commented.
"If it bothers you that much, maybe that is a sign for you to learn Turkish." I joked as I reached out my arm to grab some popcorn from her.
"I think I'll survive. There's a reason why I failed French." I laughed as Daphne started to rant about how horrible her language skills are and how she's barely surviving her Korean lessons and that her English is the only language she'll be good at.
"What does French have to do with Turkish, though? Anyway, Daph, let's go back to the series." I said. I returned my attention to the episode that was playing where Ayse and Orjinal were having a conversation about her just recently talking with a guy from that rich high school.
"Shit." My friend muttered to herself next to me. Her attention had diverted to her phone, and instead of smiling, she was now frowning. "What?" I asked.
"Check your phone. Apparently, your family wants to get in contact with you." She replied. Daphne pressed on the pause button.
I sighed before I took out my phone from my pocket. The screen displayed 30 missed messages from both my father and my sisters. I decided to read my father's messages first.

"I guess I'll be going home then." I said after I turned off the screen on my phone. Daphne had already turned off the TV.
"Well, it was nice to have you over. Tell me later what it was that your father wanted to tell you. By the way, you wouldn't be able to put in some really good words about me to your pa? He's such a DILF, I swear to god." Daphne commented. I grimaced at the last sentence she just told me.
"Yeah, I'll see what the news is and whether I can tell you about it or not. And please, Daphne, enough with this simping over my father." I muttered before I stood up from the couch. Daphne walked me to the hall. I put on my shoes, grabbed my jacket, and gave her a goodbye hug before I walked out of her apartment.
My personal driver, Joseph, already stood outside leaning against the black car. As soon as he saw me, he gave me a little wave.
"Let's get you home, Tatiana." Joseph said. He opened the passenger door for me, letting me step into the car before he closed the door behind me and walked to the driver's side.
