Your skin enhanced so beautifully when it glazed with sweat. It radiated, fitted underneath the dim of light. And the moon became his only aid as it helped him to see you more thoroughly. To see how your head was buried in the swan's feather pillow, hair sticking out so messily with a soft snore coming out of you — and to him, you looked like an angel incarnate.
Erwin had a fair share of men and women he let into his life. But nothing ever made him drawn like what you did to him. The second you stepped inside the lobby, he was already blessed. And then he got to witness the way you shared your smile for your chauffeur, gleefully explained how you got a room booked there just for him.
He never batted an eye at any young girls who flaunted themselves at him. Most of them were spoiled and rotten to the core as they seek man's pleasure. You were a breath of fresh air. No one would have thought you had full control of various textile companies in the world with how humble you acted towards others, even to the one below your level.
Your attitude contrasted with those who always tried to grab his attention. With a hint of innocence and naivety on the outermost layer, there was so much more inside that he wanted to unravel. A unique individual, someone who was distinguishably good in the world where fame and glory became everything these people knew about.
But by miracle, you fell into his clutch, stepping into his dull and stagnant circle of life. A man who was famous for marrying his own company despite being the most desirable man in Paradis. Whose reputation was inferred as a merciless man, both in business and in his personal affairs. Mr Erwin Smith.
That was mostly the reason he decided to stay in Greece, Santorini, to be exact, once he reached the age of thirty-five. He wanted a fresh start, for him to paint a new canvas. Once that was filled with strokes of blue and grey, now maybe, he could add another colour that popped and made his life enjoyable.
But red, he never thought there would be a colour of red in his life. Not when he never asked for it, not when he thought he would rejoice in this world alone. It was the darkest shade he ever found, not just pinkish, which faded so easily. No. The colour stayed — for a very long time.

"Thank you, Mr Smith."
He couldn't help but groan when he recalled what had happened earlier in the afternoon. His head throbbed. A painkiller couldn't even help. Erwin swore that the woman wanted him. Those pretty eyes as it looked up at him, the way she didn't flinch even when he touched her exposed skin — you were letting him in.
"I can take it from here."
But then your pupils dilated slightly, as if there was a warning sign blared inside your head. You took a step back, smiling at him with a more careful pull on your visage as you asked for time to unpack your clothes. So, of course, there was nothing else he could do except leave the room and give you some space.
All the way up to the house, no walls were built around you. And yet, thorns abruptly sprung up, as if trying to protect you from a danger lurking around. From him.
At this time of year, a lot of adolescents or young adults were trying to find themselves by exploring what the world offered. New experiences, summer flings, even mistakes — things they could look back to someday when they grew older and turn it as a lesson.
He was pretty sure you were here for the same reason. Despite already hitting the age of adulthood, it appeared that you wanted to explore more, something a privileged woman was never able to see before with how constricting life could be. He knew that. He often became the listener as his friends complained about their children, who didn't want to be shaped perfectly like how they were supposed to be.
