(Alastor's POV)As I slowly regained consciousness, the dull throb in my head intensified, pulsating with each beat of my heart. Gingerly, I extended my limbs, only to be met with an unexpected obstruction beneath me. Confusion knitted my brow as I tentatively opened my eyes, greeted by the sight of Vox's black screen, illuminated faintly in the dim light of the room. Startled by the sudden realization of our close proximity, I couldn't help but let out a surprised yelp, the sound echoing in the silent room. Without warning, my body jolted backward, slipping off the edge of the bed with an undignified thud. The impact sent a shockwave of discomfort reverberating through my already throbbing head, eliciting a low groan of pain as I lay sprawled on the floor, disoriented and thoroughly bewildered by the unexpected turn of events.
The abrupt noise of my fall seemed to slice through the quietude of the room like a sharp blade, shattering the fragile barrier of Vox's slumber. As if pulled from the depths of unconsciousness by the reverberating sound, Vox stirred, his black screen flickering to life with the subtle glow of awareness. With a soft grunt, Vox shifted on the bed beside me, his form gradually becoming discernible in the dimness of the room. His gaze, a piercing contrast against the darkness of his screen, fixed upon me with a mix of concern and confusion, his features etched in a blend of sleepiness and startled wakefulness. "Alastor? What... What happened?", Vox's voice, still thick with sleep, carried a note of alarm as he peered down at me, his expression a mix of bewilderment and concern.
"I had a bit of a fright seeing you in my bed", I admitted sheepishly, my words punctuated by a nervous chuckle as I attempted to lighten the mood. Vox's expression shifted, a flicker of offense crossing his features before giving way to concern. "Can you not remember any of last night?", he inquired, his tone tinged with a mix of curiosity and apprehension. I shook my head slowly, the fog of uncertainty beginning to dissipate as Vox's words prompted a gradual recollection of our drunken antics. "Not much" I confessed, my brows furrowing in concentration as I strained to piece together the fragments of memory. I blinked in confusion, trying to grasp the fragments of memory swirling hazily in the recesses of my mind. "Last night..." I muttered, my voice trailing off as I struggled to recall the events preceding my unexpected awakening on the floor. Vox's concerned expression deepened, his screen flashing with a hint of worry. "You were pretty hammered, well we both were" he remarked, his tone laced with a touch of amusement tinged with genuine concern. "We had a few too many shots".
As Vox stirred from his slumber, I couldn't help but blurt out, "Why are we in bed together?". He blinked, momentarily taken aback by my abrupt question. "You don't remember any of it?" he replied, his voice tinged with a hint of amusement. I shook my head, feeling a knot of apprehension forming in my stomach. "No, I don't", I confessed, my mind racing to fill in the gaps of the previous night's events. Vox's expression softened, and he let out a sigh. "Well, it was your idea" he explained, a wry smile playing on his lips. "Something. about not wanting to choke on your vomit". I winced, a rush of embarrassment flooding over me as the memory slowly started to resurface. "Oh... right", I muttered sheepishly, feeling a flush of heat rise to my cheeks.
As the memory of Vox undressing me flooded back, embarrassment washed over me like a tidal wave. I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks as I recalled how vulnerable I must have appeared, lying there practically naked in front of him. I buried my face in my hands, unable to bear the thought of him seeing me in such a state. "Oh, God" I mumbled, my voice muffled by my palms. Vox's expression shifted to one of concern as he noticed my distress. "Hey, it's okay" he reassured me gently, reaching out to gently pat my shoulder. "We were both... really drunk last night. We both did embarrassing things. I just wanted to make sure you were comfortable, that's why I'm in your bed". I peeked through my fingers, meeting his gaze with a mixture of embarrassment and gratitude. "Thanks" I murmured, feeling a surge of relief at his understanding response.
