The start of the International Magic Convention, much like the International Trade Market it brought hundreds of magic users to Erith, Liam was quick to go but Ariya was hesitant.
Liam walked down the road by himself, eyes wide as he looked around the streets, he resembled a kid lost in a candy store with the amount of magic items he saw everywhere. He wasn't here to buy anything as he didn't have a lot of money to spend, he was just here to look around and meet people.
So many staffs... And wands...
Liam thought to himself as he looked staff and wand set that was made out of a wood called "Dragonskell Wood", a very rare type of wood that only grew within the Dragonia forest which is a desolate forest that is completely hidden from nonmagic users.
"What a nice wand... I'll take it." A young woman with a witch hat on said while setting down what looked like a hundred gold coins on the counter and pushing them toward the person running the stand.
"Thank you for your purchase." The worker said as he handed her the wand and staff.
"Oh, I get the staff too? I thought it was just the wand." She said as she took both and started to examine the staff.
"That's a pretty nice staff," Liam said while looking at the staff the girl just bought.
"Yeah, I only wanted the wand though..." She spoke while looking at Liam.
His eyes were wide as he examined the staff, secretly he wanted that staff but he didn't have enough money and the women already bought it.
"You have a good eye for catalysts I see, Dragonskell Wood is one of the best materials for enhancing magic." She said while looking at Liam, something about him stood out from everyone else.
"I just liked how it looked..." Liam said in complete honesty.
"Oh, I should have known that you were a fake sorcerer..." She replied quietly before starting to walk away.
"Fake sorcerer? So that's what people who use magic are called... Also, I'm not a fake sorcerer." Liam said as he watched her begin to walk away.
"You are only here for things that you think look nice, and I bet this staff that you can't even beat a 'First rank' sorcerer or mage." She said turning around and looking at Liam.
First-rank sorcerer and mage?
"I can assure you that I have been against opponents with all different skill sets," Liam said feeling a little attacked by her words.
"Any officially ranked sorcerers?" She asked with a straight face.
"N... No..." Liam mumbled quietly.
"Then my point still stands, if you want to prove yourself as a sorcerer you must show something since words can only get you so far in life." She turned around while speaking and took a single step before Liam interjected.
"Then let's dual, I'll prove myself with a dual," Liam said as his eyes swirled into a cloud pattern and he clenched his fist.
"A dual?" She asked holding back a laugh.
"Yes, I challenge you to a dual Miss..." Liam ended his sentence with a pause as he didn't know her name yet.
"It's Nellianna or just Ne-Ne, and I shall let you humor me with a dual but don't start crying if I hurt you," Ne-Ne spoke while looking around for a proper dueling ground.
"The only one here that will be crying is you after you learn who you're messing with," Liam said ending with determination in his voice.
After they finished talking Ne-Ne walked with Liam to the outer walls of Erith, they found a small dueling field that looked like it hadn't been used in ages, the concrete platform was covered in dust and debris.
