" so here we're gonna happen when stannis gets here. They're going to ring the bells and you're going to be hidden away with your sister." Sandor told vaera. " I'm gonna go out there and I'm gonna kick ass."

" you can't stay with me?" Vaera countered

" I would love to stay with you, but unfortunately, I have to go serve the stupid king."

" but you'll be careful?"

" I'll be as careful as I can be in the midst of war." Sandor agreed. Vaera nodded. " you worried about me?"

" of course I am you're my friend."

There was that stupid word again, friend.

" when it's over, you'll come find me right?" Vaera questioned

" the moment I'm done." Sandor agreed.

Vaera bit her lip heels tapping together.

" I should've made you a good luck charm." Vaera whispered. Sandor chuckled.

" I don't think I've ever had one of those before."

" I could give you my favor."

" I would like that." Sandor admitted.

" it's around here somewhere. I started doing my initials in it. That's what the typical lady does but then I remembered I'm not typical so I started adding little flowers, but I don't know if I ever finished it. Forgive me if it looks bad." Vaera fumbling around her for the scrap of fabric.

Sandor saw it. Move to it and slid it towards her hand.

" oh here it is." vaera agreed. " thank you."

" you found it." Sandor corrected.

" I would've been searching another minute before I found it." she countered. " well this is for you... I don't give it to you now. I'm afraid I'll lose it before the war."

" I'll treasure it. Thank you." he held it close before shoving it into his pants pocket.

" is it finished?"

"Ahhh." he pulled it back and looked it over. His chuckle told her everything she needed to know.

"it's not done." she realized.

" I love it."

" the war is over. I'll finish it make it perfect for you..."

" it's already perfect." because it was from her.

War was upon them and Vaera sat, knees curled into her chest on Cersei's bed, while others prayed, she stared off, seeing flickers of something in the distance, she blinked again but it was gone.

She wished she had seen the war, knew how it was going to end, maybe it ended in her death. Cersei was certainly drinking like it was the last wine she would ever drink.

Vaera heard her pour another and another and another.

"Vaera, drink."

"No thanks." Vaera countered.

"Drink." Cersei urged but Vaera just ended up spilling it.

Vaera was zoning out when she heard Cersei say something about Joffrey and a knight counter with the kings presence is good for moral then Cersei shrieked.

"GET THE KING BACK TO HIS CHAMBERS."

"It's not looking good." Vaera realized.

"No." Cersei agreed getting up, she held Tommen close and headed out the door.

"Cersei?" Vaera reached over but Cersei had gotten up. "Cersei?" Vaera's head turned as her arm swatted around. "Cer-Cersei?" She stuttered.

"She left my lady." a woman answered. "In a hurry to." Vaera slumped back into the wall.

"Thank you." Vaera added after a moment. "Are we losing?"

"hard to tell." The woman answered.

"I think I will get back to my own chambers...' Vaera told the woman, even though she knew the woman didnt care, Vaera was a stranger to her. "Best of luck..."

"You as well."

Vaera knew where she was going, she counted the steps but she couldnt have predicted what was coming for her.  Vaera stumbled back falling into an armored chest. Rough hands grabbed her holding her upright.

"Excuse me-"

"They are coming vaera. We are losing. You want me to bring you to your father?"

"Sandor? I thought you were outside the walls what happened? "

" your brother set fire to the water. I'm losing my men like crazy I quit ." he informed her " we're losing. When they breach you are fucked." he added "vaera... do you want me to bring you to your father? Get you safe," he requested

"Ummm," vaera hesitated.

"Look at me girl. Im trying to help you. Let me help you."

" I don't know... what if my... I should tell my sister-"

" no, we should go right now."
