"Is the hood really necessary?" Vaera questioned. "I havent been able to see since I was young... a hood seems... a bit much."

"I suppose shes right." Thoros agreed moving to horse.

"What if shes lying?" Anguy countered throwing an apple at her, it hit her in the chest.

"Ow." Vaera whispered rubbing her chest.

"I'm not convinced." Matthew decided. "Throw something else."

"Please dont." Vaera countered softly.

"Stop throwing things at the little lady." Thoros agreed. "Sorry my lady. You know I never got your last name.''

"Um, its just Vaera." SHe recalled sandor instructions, no last names.

"Shes a lannister!" Arya barked out.

"Girl." Sandor demanded.

"A lannister?" Thoros declared. "Hell, I remember now, Tywin's daughter." She tensed gripping the reigns.

"Leave her be." Sandor barked.

"Luckily for you we are here." Thoros offered. "Deal with a lannister later." He winked. Vaera didnt see it but sandor knew.

"What is this place?"

" Somewhere neither wolves nor lions come prowling." Thoros answered

"Not anymore." Vaera grumbled. "Lion and wolf. No secret."

"You cant find it if we spin you around and point you in the wrong direction." Thoros countered

"I dont care to find it again. I want to go home." Vaera sassed.

"You look like a bunch of swineherds." Sandor decided when his hood was pulled free.

"Some of us were swineherds. And some of us tanners and masons. That was before."

"You're still swineherds and tanners and masons. You think carrying a crooked spear makes you a soldier?" Sandor spat moving to vaera.

"Whats a swineherd?" She whispered

" No. Fighting in a war makes you a soldier." Beric corrected coming in.

"Beric Dondarrion? You've seen better days." Sandor realized.

" And I won't see them again." he confirmed. "My lady... im surprised to see you."

"Im not surprised i cant see you." Vaera countered. Beric chuckled

"Spending so much time with clegane changed you."

"Being abducted changed me." Vaera countered.

"Stark deserters. Baratheon deserters. You lot aren't fighting in a war. You're running from it." Sandor decided looking around.

" Last I heard, you were King Joffrey's guard dog. But here you are a thousand miles from home. Which of us is running?"

"Hes my guard. Not joffreys anymore." Vaera countered.

"Untie these ropes and we'll find out. What are you doing leading a mob of peasants?" Sandor demanded.

"Sandor i dont like this" vaera whispered stumbling on the uneven ground weaving her way back into his side.

" Ned Stark ordered me to execute your brother in King Robert's name."

" Ned Stark is dead. King Robert is dead. My brother's alive." Sandor spit in disgust. "You're fighting for ghosts."

" That's what we are- ghosts waiting for you in the dark. You can't see us, but we see you."

"Ha." Vaera said dryly. Beric gave her a sympathetic look that she couldnt see.
