Chapter 15

POV: You

You really could have saved Ryohei. If you weren't such a coward.

If you weren't so frightened by the shades.

If you had just gotten it together maybe you could have saved him.

Maybe you could have stopped his killer from even getting close to the Higashikata family.

Maybe you could have even prevented your uncle from hurting so many others.

But you didn't.

You were too scared to actually help.

And in the end it was Josuke and Tomoko who paid the price for your cowardice.

Jotaro clearly needed an explanation, and so you began to speak.

"Not every spirit that stays behind here on earth is normal. A lot of them stay behind because they hold some sort of grudge."

The shadows in your room kept looking at you.

"And because of that grudge they can lose themselves to their emotions and lose who they were before."

There were too many eyes looking at you. They followed you everywhere. In your house, as you went to school, and you hated that they hung around your uncle. You didn't know what they meant.

"They become completely unrecognizable, only driven by the strongest emotion before they died."

You covered your ears and closed your eyes to try and block out their agonizing cries and screams, but they would simply grasp at your hands and force you to face them. Force you to see their pain. Forcing you to hear the sins. Sins that your uncle committed against them. . . . you couldn't look at your uncle the same way.

"I first saw them around my uncle, and became so terrified of them that when I saw them around what I suspect to be Aqua Necklace's user, I froze up. I couldn't do anything. And now Ryohei is dead. All because I was too much of a coward to get over my fears."

At this statement Noriaki immediately put his hands on your shoulders.

"There is no fault in being afraid! You aren't a coward! This is a trauma you haven't talked to anyone about for more than 10 years! You've barely told Rohan, and it was just there where I learned what happened to you as well! You are barely getting a grasp of this, there is no shame in fear, but I will not let you keep calling yourself a coward. You have me, Rohan, and now you have Jotaro."

"Rohan?"

Ah, Jotaro didn't know about Rohan.

"He's a Stand User that was hit by the Stand Arrow by Keicho. He's chill, don't worry about him."

He simply hummed and looked out to the ocean.

"So he's the only other person who knows?"

You rubbed the back of your head a bit.

"Koichi only knows that I have a Stand, not how it works or anything involving my uncle."

He then pulled his hat down a bit before speaking.

"If you ever need anything, don't be scared to call me up."

He took out a notepad and pen from his pocket before writing something down and ripping it off, handing the paper to you.

You looked at it and realized it was a phone number.

"This is my personal phone number, save it on your phone."

You pocketed the paper and thanked him.

He told you to head home since it was dark, but he said one last thing.

"I hope that at some point you tell Josuke about all this. I think he of all people deserves to know that you have a Stand."

You simply nodded before waving and walking back to your house.

An interesting conversation that was.

You went to sleep feeling a bit lighter.

The next day was a bit better.

School was fine and there wasn't really anything that you needed to do.

As you walked home you crossed paths with Rohan and Koichi.

"Oi! [name], join me and Koichi."

You smiled at both of them. Yeah. Maybe something like this would help keep your mind off of everything serious.

"[name], your uncle is going to be visiting Morioh for a week. Be sure to take care of each other and to make him feel at home!"

it was midterms last week, but still, I apologize for not updating two weeks ago. 

also sorry for such a short chapter, but I actually have a lot planned for this upcoming arc, especially with it being made from scratch. 

one last time to guess who your uncle is, I might cofirm who it is (/▽＼)
