since when did you become so
scared of the world around you
that you decided the only way
you were ever going to not feel
the fear is by surrounding yourself
with the luxury of inanimate objections
and probing every single person
that comes your way to reveal their
carefully guarded secrets before
you unveil a well-known fact
about yourself, but present it
through an air of indifference and
a whisper, as if you are indulging
in some scandalous rumor about your
own self?
