"We made it! Shalour City!" Ash cried.
He and the others took in the beautiful coastal city. A vast white beach nestled before rising cliffs and various buildings among them. Road and sidewalks connected these street levels with plenty of trees and greenery between them.
Yet for all its glory, the city l paled in comparison to an island just north of its glittering coastal waters. There rested an enormous castle that pierced the sky in a grand spire.
"The Tower of Mastery. It's been too long." Felix said while his Lucario nodded.
Ash and Pikachu could not take their eyes off the magnificent structure. Moments later, Lucario came out of his pokeball and howled in delight. Inside lay Korrina and the rematch he and Ash longed for. Serena too beamed with glistening eyes as she took in the sights.
"I haven't been here since I was a little girl."
"Now you get to have your first Showcase here." Ash said and she turned a little pink.
Bonnie giggled but Clemont stared at Ash and Serena who held hands with an uncomfortable look.
"Ash, Serena. Not to be intrusive, but it's been days since the singing contest and well. What is going on between you now?"
"Geeze don't be dense, Clemont. Operation Amourshipping succeeded. They're in love!" Bonnie cried.
"Bonnie!" Ash and Serena yelped with bright red expressions. Felix chuckled with Pikachu and both Lucario. Despite their outbursts, Ash and Serena kept holding hands.
Everything happened so fast, and Ash did not know how to take all of this in. Yet, he wanted it to happen, that much he knew for certain.
"We haven't put a label on it. But aren't just friends anymore, that much is for certain." Ash said.
"Oui. We're just taking it slow. But." Serena said and with a bright smile pulled Ash into a kiss leaving him shaking as she giggled. "I can do that now."
"That's my boy-" Felix started.
He and his Lucario sensed something or other someone nearby. Turning to a nearby tree they spotted a well concealed man in a military uniform among the branches with binoculars and a Hawlucha beside him.
"Yes Colonel, I see them. She just kissed him. Easy sir, I can't do that. No sir, I don't think sending a tank in is a proper response. Sir, you'd be an even bigger response than the tank-"
The Hawlucha yelped and pointed down to Felix with his Lucario right beneath them. The soldier gulped at Felix's intense stare before he fell back out of sight with Hawlucha.
After a trip to the Pokémon center, Felix led them down to the beach.
"You know Korrina's grandfather?" Ash asked.
"Hai, Gurkinn and I have gone in a few adventures together. But I haven't seen him in some time. When I last visited, Korrina was still a little girl."
"She's engaged now." Serena said.
"Hai, Gurkinn told me about that. Apparently he's a trainer who's making a name for himself back in Kanto."
Ash wracked his brain for just who it might be. He then remembered hearing about a someone Korrina's age going against Agatha for her position soon. Could it be him? They arrived at the edge of the water and Felix stopped.
"Huh? Wait, how do we get to the island? Do we need a boat?" Serena asked.
"Nope, we just need to wait one more moment."
