Chapter 25: Aim to be the Kalos Queen! Serena Makes her Debut!

Serena held her arms up outside the pokemon center, panting with Fennekin and Amaura. Sweat soaked all three, but they smiled in the rising sun after another rehearsed performance. The young performer hugged both her pokemon tight.

"It's just like I imagined! This is it, our first debut as performers!"

"Fenn!"

"Amaur!"

Moments later they heard some clapping nearby. Serena turned and blushed a little but smiled upon seeing Ash with his team. They mirrored Serena's sweaty and exhausted appearance.

"What are you doing up so early?" She giggled.

"We were on our way back from training with my dad and Gurkinn at the Tower of Mastery when we saw you performing and decided to watch." He said.

Serena wanted to shake her head. Only Ash would insist on pushing himself harder right after winning a gym battle. Still, his enthusiasm tickled her stomach, making the young woman giggle a little more.

"What do you think?" She asked.

"It was beautiful. I think you're more than ready for your showcase today."

"Merci!" Serena almost squealed and imagined herself holding the princess key.

"Just keep up that focus and determination during your actual performance." Ash said as his Pokemon nodded before he came over and picked up Serena from behind. She laughed harder and playfully tried to break free but Ash proved too strong and kissed her cheek. She gave up and turned herself around and pulled him into a full on kiss.

Despite the fumes from their sweat, they remained locked together for what felt like blissful hours. Serena did not think she could get much happier than she was now. Even if they had not put an official label on their relationship, what she had with Ash now was greater than anything Serena imagined all those years. The boy of her dreams, her inspiration, liked her back. Now she had a chance to show him and all of Kalos what she could do.

Pikachu and the others chuckled watching this, all except Fennekin. The little fox nervously inched her way closer to Lucario. He failed to notice this, but the rest of his team did not. Pikachu and Frogadier looked at each other before nodding. The water frog kicked the back of Lucario's leg, making him fall over. The aura pokemon started to snarl until Pikachu pushed Fennekin onto his chest.

"Fenn!" She yelped, turning pink in the cheeks.

"Grouu." Lucario grumbled, turning a little red himself and looking away.

After a refreshing shower and breakfast, Serena stood in front of a telephone monitor with the others. She beamed while holding a pink and white dress in her arms.

"Ahh, it arrived, bien." Grace said over the phone.

"It did! Merci, mama, papa!"

"Oui, baby. I'm sorry we can't be there for your first performance. I'll be watching with my officers and sergeants from the base." Alex said.

"Merci, papa. But please, stop sending your soldiers to spy on me." Serena said.

"I, I don't know what you're talking about, Serena." He avoided her eyes and tugged at the collar of his uniform.

Clemont and Ash sweatdropped when they looked back at a man and a woman in camo uniforms watching them from behind some plants. Felix shot the soldiers a warning glance before the troopers retreated.

"We'll be rooting for you, baby. Just remember to go for broke." Grace said and the call ended.

"Serena is gonna wow everyone!" Bonnie proclaimed.
