Clemont took a deep breath and savored the gentle ocean breeze against his face as group traveled down route 12. After another arduous morning training session, a simple walk by the seaside eased his aching body.

He almost envied Bunnelby and Chespin, both fast asleep in their pokeballs. He cleaned some sweat from his glasses and glanced at those around him.

Bonnie still beamed and snickered as she watched Ash and Serena walk together while holding hands. A bead of sweat ran down Clemont's face, though. He was still getting used to the idea. At least Serena seemed to be doing better since her first showcase.

As much as he did not want to, Clemont also breathed a sigh of relief at Felix's departure the other day, claiming he had important business to tend to. However intense Ash got during training, it was nothing to Felix.

"So where is our next stop?" Ash asked.

"Courmarine city, that's where your next gym battle is, and my next showcase." Serena said.

"Hai, that's it then."

"Pika!"

Clemont nodded, but soon started to think about his own journey. As much as he wanted to say he had grown as a trainer, Clemont had yet to test himself like Ash and Serena.

He glanced at Ash with a nervous expression and pondered asking him for a proper battle. Clemont shook the idea away and sighed before a nearby explosion jumped the group.

"Brother!" Bonnie said and gave him a stern look.

"Ehh!? It wasn't me! At least, I think it wasn't." Clemont gulped and thought back to any inventions he might have accidentally left around.

"Hey, I don't think it came from Clemont. Look."

Serena pointed to the coastline and Clemont yelped. There stood what looked like some kind of summer camp with various cabins but with a laboratory in the center.

Dozens of children with Pokémon moved about the camp while adults in lab coats supervised them and their work.

"Look at that, it's like some kind of scientist summer camp. Clemont, have you ever heard of it?" Ash asked

"Oui, I attended it when I was Bonnie's age. It's called the Kalos Academy for Bright Minds." Clemont said.

Looking closer they saw it was not Clemont that caused the explosion after all. Instead, a boy Bonnie's age and a Psyduck, who coughed while covered in soot.

"Oh no, it looks like you got the wires mixed up again, Luke. It's alright, we're still learning."

A blue haired and eyed woman in lab coat patted his back. Clemont smiled a little thinking back to his time at the camp before sighing. Ash noticed his somber expression.

"Clemont, is something wrong?" He asked.

"Nothing, I just. I just thought about someone I never got to say goodbye to here." Clemont said.

"You mean her?" Serena asked, pointing to the woman.

"No, not here I-" Clemont started.

"Because it looks like Bonnie is going to say hello for you." Serena added.

Clemont realized his sister was not there and yelled after seeing a cloud of dust left behind after she arrived before her.

"Bonnie, no!"

Clemont races after her, leaving Ash and Serena to sweatdrop. Pikachu chuckled before hearing a rustling in the bushes. He looked over and saw a pair of eyes fixed on Clemont. The unseen Pokémon growled before disappearing into the forest before Pikachu could get a better look.
