Dolly took off her gloves, "John Nolan," She greeted the man she saw, "Didn't expect to see you down here." Her gaze caught on the new woman who'd walked through the door.
"I don't think we've met, Dr Dolly Bradford," She shook the hand of the woman in front of her. The woman took it and gave her a small smile.
"Nyla Harper," She responded, dropping her hand before looking over at the body on the table, "I'm guessing that's not our suspect on there."
"No, sorry, we're a bit overrun today," She turned to the table and put a sheet over the body, "This one over here's your suspect," Dolly took the sheet down a little, revealing a face of the body.
"That's him?" Nolan asked, looking over to see the body on the table.
"It's him," Dolly replied, nodding her head.
"Did you find any cause of death?" Nolan wondered, looking at the body.
"Exsanguination," She informed them, "Stab wounds, seven but the one to the carotid was the one that got him."
"Exsanguination," Nolan reiterated, "That means severe blood loss, correct?"
"Yes, he bled out, but I found something weird in some test results I ran," She explained as she grabbed a sheet of paper off the desk.
"Weird in what way?" Nolan inquired, curious to see what she had found.
"He was stabbed with a piece of wood, the chemicals I found was wet wood varnish," Dolly told them, "Trust me I've seen weird, but this is the first time I've seen something like this."
"Wood varnish," Nolan repeated, intrigued by the discovery.
"That is definitely a strange one," Harper replied, looking over at Nolan.
"You have an idea of how he could have gotten that on him?" Nolan wondered.
"It's actually in the wound so someone would have to take something that still had wet varnish on it and then stab," She narrowed down.
"So, someone would have had to stab this guy with something that still had wet varnish on it?" Nolan repeated to make sure he understood it correctly
"Yep," Dolly grimaced, "Excuse me," She said as she walked over to her desk and poured a handful of mints into her mouth.
"No worries," both Nolan and Harper replied almost simultaneously.
"You okay?" Nyla asked her, watching her sit on her chair as she rubbed at her chest.
"Yeah, just a bit of heartburn," Dolly replied, taking out some more documents and handing them to the woman.
"I know the feeling," Nyla responded with a sympathetic smile, taking the documents, "It was the same when I was having my little girl."
"Oh, I'm not pregnant," Dolly dismissed, "Just a little bit of a bug going around."
"Oh." Nyla's smile dropped a little bit. "Sorry, I just assumed..."
"Don't worry about it," Dolly smiled, ignoring the aching in her chest from the reminder of what could've been and the heartburn, "It happens."
Nyla nodded her head, her expression going back to being sympathetic, "Yeah, it does."

Dolly was lying in bed, feeling pretty sore from the events of the day. She was trying to get some rest, but her heartburn was bothering her a bit, so she got up and went to the bathroom to take some antacids.
